"Impressive. You use your body skillfully for a holy man." He broke the silence as he unleashed his onslaught of kicks, each mightier than the last. His expression was cold and furious, casting a hardened shadow on his face that was only brightened by the ghastly glow of his eyes.  But all of a sudden, something incredible happened. Vanguard's body twisted inhumanly and his leg cracked like a whip, zigzagging downwards like a whip before crashing down.

That merciless kick served nothing but to deflect his opponent's hands by blowing them back, forcing an opening. He was wide open, even with his great skill he had a split second over that man.

In the blink of an eye, he advanced on his position and  thrust his arms by using his entire body mass, muscles and momentum to slam his fists into his stomach with a wave of crashing lightning that could shatter a building's foundations.

Not bad, that man was certainly strong. But this wasn't enough, this power was futile.  Vanguard stood his ground and advanced again, digging his foot into the ground with an almighty stance before delivering a flurry of masterful kicks at the man, each powerful enough to blow an ordinary man apart into pathetic chunks.

Khasdfghjkl!! He was caught completely off guard, fighting on uneven ground from the get go, and a war on two fronts no less! Desperate times called for desperate measures. On times like these, he had to think about ships.

"Y-you look nice! Definitely a Goddess." He managed to blurt out coherently, oh no he was too sorry. He shouldn't even look at something like this, he would definitely go back to hell because of this. He decisively placed his fist where his heart should resided and pridefully asserted dominance.

"But I can't approve of this behavior. I-I mean, what if a stalker takes creepy looks on you and starts spreading scandalous rumors? I would never be able to forgive myself if something happened to you two. It is a man's duty to protect cute girls no matter what!"

"Futile."

The titanic warrior read through the feints as if they were crystal clear. Concrete or wood couldn't hurt him, meaning that man's strike was yet to come. He burst into motion and shattered the ground with a dash as he caught the man's fist with his massive hand, deflecting the blow with a merciless gust of wind that boomed deafeningly, sending all the customers running away and breaking his opponent's balance.

He immediately followed up with incredible speed by twisting his body and delivering a merciless elbow strike to his opponent's plexus, shaterring anything in his path and sending splinters flying all over.

Woah, still alive? Just what the hell was he made of? And he blew his cover too in the heat of the moment. Despite the utter failure, he didn't stop grinning from ear to ear, as if this whole thing didn't matter in the first place. Even while his good friend was talking, the strange miasma was building up again.

"Yes, yes, how unfortunate. I think I'm about to cry." The ground beneath him began to melt from the sheer heat, though there was very little to burn at this point. "Well, it was fun. Good night sweet prince."

---!

Just before he was about to fire it once more, he stopped and looked surprised for a second. Heh, you really are despicable.

Ultimately, he didn't fire anything. Instead, he melted the ground under him and slipped through the hole in order to flee. A projection appeared behind Molly, just for a second in order to relay the message.

Lorenzo

"..."

No. Looking was bad. He definitely, absolutely wouldn't turn around! "I-it's very nice." He managed to muster weakly in his flustered state. "I mean, isn't it, like, embarrassing?"

He could never imagine wearing something so scandalous, even in his wildest dreams. Girls should be more proper, shouldn't they!?

"Heh! I see, I see! Fine, have it your way. You know, I don't mind stubborn idiots like you. They make the world interesting..." He chuckled to himself, but all of a sudden he was interrupted by a notification. Oh my, so quick? He was almost tempted to snatch it and answer himself. Another time maybe.

"Oho. You might want to respond to that. Welp, it was fun catching up, but I'll see myself out. And next time, please think a little more before you speak. It'd be bad if people got the wrong idea, hehehe."

He turned his back to the window and looked down at the city. Beautiful, really, and all for him. Just the thought of it was enough to make him overfill with glee. But oh well, he'd have his fun later, surely. So he turned his head to face the good old policeman one last time with the same snide tone as always.

"Let's catch up sometime, detective." He told him as his body crumbled and faded away into nothing. The only trace left of him was a burnt up cigarette.

"Yes, yes. I haven't heard that one before." He rolled his hand like he was quite literally too old and tired to deal with such spiels. "But how do you expect to deal with people who can turn you into hamburger? Hasn't the thought that you might just be on the losing side ever cross your mind?" He pointed to the detective, smiling all the same but genuinely curious in his words.

Blackmore scoffed, oh my. What a silly duo, he almost felt sorry for barging in so suddenly. Almost. He crossed his legs and pressed his hand against the wall at a rather elongated angle, his pose as casual as it could get.

"Pffft, you know me. As if I'd pass the chance to sass you. And I get to scare the living shit out of some poor fool? Heck yeah!" He grinned from ear to ear before lighting up a cigarette from his pocket and taking a big puff right in the middle of the apartment.

"Honestly, I feel bad for all you poor policemen stuck in your position. The way you all desperately try to enforce some idea of peace and order in this shithole just makes my little heart ache. But yknow, let's say that the weak try to make a miracle, and the strong try to keep that miracle from happening... wouldn't that just make this pretend fight in the name of the law pretty pointless?"

"..."

He could suddenly feel a powerful presence looming around. Even while they were casually speaking, he was wary as ever, but he noticed from the rooftop that they were being followed. He didn't turn his head, but his eyes followed them all the same. All of a sudden, his body burst into motion without any warning and dashed past the woman, and before anyone could turn their heads ta booming shock-wave swept everything and everyone away.

Anything around the two powerful beings was blown away by violent gusts of wind, and when the dust cleared two massively imposing figures were revealed in their clash, their fists connected and matched evenly while surrounded by frozen shards.

He glared as he swung his fists forth with a suddenly powerful momentum, knocking both back a few feet as he reconnected his posture to a combative stance, his body more than capable to match his foe's.

Blackmore shook his head and laughed at the two youngsters. "Extorsion? Please, why would I extort a pathetic weakling like him? That would just be sloppy. You know better than anyone I wouldn't do something unless I had something to gain out of it." He hunched his massive back and pointed at Joe with a huge grin on his face, not breaking eye contact the whole time.

What did he plan to do with that phone anyways? It's not like he came here to kill them.If he did, he would've just used it.

"On the contrary, I saved this man's life. With that in mind, I was pretty shocked at what I overheard. I wouldn't have showed up if he just ratted on me, that's only logical. Weaklings must rely on the strong in order to survive, I get that. But to think you'd actually lie to out dear friend detective over here... You've got some pretty rotten guts boy, I like that..."

He clapped for his good friend, all in good humor. "I'm not here to hurt anyone, if I was I wouldn't have announced myself in the first place now would I? I just hate being betrayed, and I hate liars even more. You should know that better than anyone, don't you? Detective?"

The man of steel nodded. "Good. Wanting means you're still alive, the moment you stop striving for something your story will end." He told her sternly. "Self serving to the very end, huh? ...There are worse ways to die." He praised her calmly.

The skeleton's jaw was gaping, without him even realizing. This whole display turned him completely speechless.

"..."

For some reason, he wouldn't look at her. He seemed extremely flustered. Crap, she really was a goddess. And he had been so rude too, would she smite him down as punishment for that? Crap...

Blackmore

Kh-!

Jeez, this is why he hated taking the front lines. This was just ridiculous, just how durable was this bastard? Just because his body was special didn't mean this didn't hurt like a bitch. His attacks took time to charge, or to aim, or to hit. But he had lived for too long already, time was the one thing he had. And his time... was up.

The temperature and energy quantity skyrocketed even further beyond. No, this was more than that, the miasma all but vanished and was replaced with a burst of violet light.

Six Seconds Fatman
Dark Impact.

Suddenly, a massive point blank beam slammed right into the beast and shot him straight out of the sewers with explosive heat and force, turning all the water in its path and proximity into a sea of fire. Not a single creature could survive a direct dark impact, there wasn't a natural substance that could retain its shape unscathed from this attack. But that damn freak managed to touch him directly during his charge up, so he thought it would be better to switch up the playing field.

He chuckled painfully while the beam drilled the monster straight up into the bright city, feeling the sweat drip down his forehead, or was it blood? Heheheh, he couldn't tell. Something that lived in the darkness all its life would be blinded once he walked out of it, he should know that better than anyone. And he wouldn't be able to do anything as long as he was in the air.

He ignored his bruises and bloodied body, his bones felt like they'd break, but he could still move.

So while the fishman was still flying, his foot slammed on the ground and he jumped out of the sewers through the hole, kicking off an energy barrier to gain even higher ground.

"You know, despite my massive strength, I'm better at ranged fighting." He bantered as he closed the distance with his own leap, covered in wounds and bruises but baring the same smile as always before he kicked the beast with a monstrous kick filled with foreign energy.

"I'd rather die." He told her flatly. "Say that again, and it'll be your head I'll be cracking." With that, he slammed his hand on the annoying little pest and turned it into a puddle on the table, though it didn't stop it from moving around, much to his annoyance.

"I just don't get it. Why live as a human when you are so much more? Why the false modesty? I'm sure someone with your guile could rule a planet, let alone your power. Your lock has nothing to do with it, but wouldn't that manpower benefit yor ends more?"

Vanguard sighed tiredly. "You make me sick." He looked repulsed by her display, as if the thought of drinking alcohol was no different than to drink poisonous venom to him. He was being honest and blunt, perhaps to a fault, but the fact he was being honest was in a way proof that he had more feelings for Lucy than the average person.

"I have no real organs, this entire body is artificial. Partaking in this would be pointless. In fact, it's irritating. Do you act like this with every man you meet?"
