He looked down at her arm, where the crest should be. “I-I was your father?"

She nodded, gently.

"Does that mean that I- I mean...How?"

Rin's mind was conflicted. Changing the timelines was dangerous, but... at the same time... she could maybe have her father back. But... she didn't even know how he had died, just that the Grail War had claimed his life. How then... how did she answer him? The Grail War... that was vague enough, wasn't it? Was it safe to tell him? In the end...

"Something to keep in mind... things may happen differently from my timeline to yours." She took a deep breath. "You died during the Holy Grail War. You prepared in case of that eventuality, and you made sure I was set up for the future. Thanks to your foresight I was able to still carry on my training as the heir. Even though." She squeezed her eyes shut. Was she saying the right things? Was she saying too much, too little? Her usual confidence seemed to escape her, and everything seemed so unclear...

"Well, I don't remember where I grew up at or where I'm even from. The closest place that I can say I came from is a country called Lordran, where my earliest memory is from: sitting in a locked cell in the Undead Asylum." the Chosen Undead started saying, "When I got out, I traveled to a city called Anor Lando. Well, it was more of a husk of a city than anything, honestly. Still quite beautiful, though, despite being overgrown, dilapidated, and filled with hollowed Undead among other things.

"The fortress walls alone were far taller than most of the buildings here, the Burg had such wide cobblestone streets, and the city proper sat up high on top of the plateau. It was always bathed in sunlight!" At this, the Knight's voice dropped down low, "Or, it was until I came along..."

"I see... It seems one of the requisites of this place is to not be able to catch a break, huh", Caules said, punctuated by a nervous chuckle.

"Anyways," he started, quickly changing the topic, "what is 'cosplaying'? I keep hearing people say that whenever I walk by.:

"C-cosplay, huh? I can't claim to be entirely familiar with the subject, but it is the action of dressing up as a character of fiction or otherwise for, erm, the fun of it. Since people don't exactly wear full sets of armor nowadays, they probably think you're cosplaying."

Tokiomi

Tokiomi had no idea how to handle this. He died and left behind a daughter, his daughter, to face the trials of the world without someone to help guide her.

He looked at her, seeing her eyes closed tight, obviously struggling with something. Tokiomi did not know how to handle this, he was only eighteen after-all. He was not her father, simply someone who was like him… but even still.

Tokiomi didn’t know what processed him to do this. But he walked over to her and pulled her into a hug.

He did not know why he did something like this. Logically he should not feel compassion for this person, she is from a different world and time, completely separate from his own. But even still, this girl suffered because of his future self's, no his, foolishness.

Even though he is not her father, even though he will never come back, and most of all even though these feeling are obviously something she had manage for years. He hopped that this would at least give her some solace.

Rin's eyes widened as she was pulled into her young Father's embrace. She stood there for a moment, her body not responding, not knowing how to react. Then... slowly, she returned the embrace, tears beginning to form, a few making their way down her cheeks like the first few droplets of a rain storm.

Mille watched from afar, not uttering a word. Even she knew that they both needed this. That, and a bit of time.

Proxy looked at the girl, Fiore, before nodding happily, “YEP, sure can.” He then hopped off her lap and started moving due north. “Come on, follow me.” It the hopped around a corner out of sight.

Amy sighed, “Well, look like he isn’t thinking things through again. I can track him though, don’t worry.” She moved behind Fiore before pushing her wheel chair in the direction Proxy left. “He will find your brother, he might be a little childish but he has never let me down before.”

She then turned her head to the two men, “You guys coming? Or are you two going to just let two vulnerable young ladies go into the dark, dangerous city by themselves?” She said in an almost mocking tone as she looked at the two men by the park entrance.

"Ah. So, they're assuming I'm just some overcommitted fool wearing a costume, then?" The Chosen Undead was glad that the young man didn't force the topic back back on track.

He felt guilty for not telling Caules much of himself; The Knight would rather keep things buried. Even the triumphs led to a more sorrowful way of thinking, and he rather not become Hollowed because of it. He, himself, is not entirely sure when the point of no return, and it was better to be paranoid about it then to lose the last part of himself.

Wincing slightly, Fiore pouted somewhat at the term Neo used as a nickname for her.

"Could you please not refer to me as "Gimp Girl", Mr. Neo? I have a name, and it's Fiore. Fiore Forvedge Yggdmillenia."

"But regardless, I am thankful that you drew in new people, Mr. Neo. It is great to know that so many nice people exist in this foreign place", came from her as she flashed an adorable smile.

"Damn pleased to meet you, Fiore." Neo replied. "That's too fucking formal for me but since we're doing shit like that now, I'mma tell ya' my whole awesome name. I'm Jan Neo Langraad, but don't ya' fuckin' dare to call me Jan or Mister Langraad because that ain't conveying my sexiness enough. Just call me Neo or Captain Candy Floss. Yo' choice. You can also call me 'Honey' too, so that you can get fuckin' used to it already when you become my girl, a'right?"

Jubei just sat there on a chair in his shop. Now most people would think this was odd, for two reasons.

One, a cat wearing a yellow jacket and chef's hat is reading a newspaper.

And two, said cat was also the owner of the restaurant/cafe he was sitting in.

But Jubei didn’t need to sleep much, and his shop was actually well known for being open at odd hours. It was actually surprisingly empty at the moment, only a few people sitting around eating light meals, all of which were just about done. It was a rare calm, and he savored every minute of it.

One of the people occupying Jubei's establishment at that time was also one who had found himself among his most frequent costumers since discovering the place. Said person, Fate Averruncus, was sitting by himself on a lone table by the window.

There was a soft clink as he laid down his cutlery on his emptied plate of salad. Cleaning the edge of his mouth with the napkin, he looked appreciatively at where his meal had once rested. He was able to function without food, so theoretically speaking he did not have to go out of his way to obtain sustenance in such a way, but over the years he had developed a liking of fine cuisine. Fate recognized there were times when eating could be a pleasure and not a chore, an outlook he attributed to the work of one of the former members of middle school class 3-A of Mahora Academy.

The occasions where he ate out of pleasure and not forced necessity were seldom (in fact, coffee was the only thing he often consumed because of appreciation for it), but the food at this homely restaurant was nothing if not wonderful.

Then, with a hum of resignation, Fate pushed his plate to the side and laid a bound folder of non-descript appearance on the space he had freed up. He sighed at it despite himself and lifted his gaze over to the owner of the establishment. Knowing the cat would notice, Fate waited for him to bring over the usual.

Forest smiled at Henry and said, "Honestly, having a doctor here could be bloody useful.  Not to mention your patents would probably feel better if you didn't have any dark circles under your eyes."

She eyed Hakuno and Thomas, hearing their little mental exchange.  She raised an eyebrow but said nothing about it.  Instead she said, "That's fine.  I'm not forcing anyone to stay if they don't want to."

Wynn sighed and said, "Now you are going to shuffle them about in a very tedious and boring fashion.  I am going to see what the Hindu is up to."  She vanished into the shadows, leaving them behind.

Forest sighed, her shoulders slumping, and she smiled.  "So, with her out of the way, who wants a tour?"

Gabriel stroked La Folia's hair and asked, "How are you doing by the way?"

Wynn emerged into the kitchen where the Hindu god was currently in.  She simply walked to the wine cabinet, opened it up, and pulled out a dark green bottle.  Shutting the cabinet, she then retrieved a glass, an elegantly slotted spoon, a box of sugar cubes, and a bottle of spring water from the refrigerator.

She eyed Karna and asked, "Would you like to chase the Green Fairy?"

 Lancer walked easily with the girls and Captain Candy Floss.  He looked at Neo and said, "You're a right strange one, did you know that?"

Then he looked at Fiore and said, "Mayhap you can tell us something about your brother?"

Forest smiled at Henry and said, "Honestly, having a doctor here could be bloody useful.  Not to mention your patients would probably feel better if you didn't have any dark circles under your eyes."

A smile graced his face at her concern. It is true that things haven't gone too well lately for the tired man. His only bed were the number of chairs set out in the waiting lounge for his customers. They weren't exactly the most comfortable thing to sleep on, but it had to make do. For him, it would be great to have an actual bed to lay his back on. But even then, that additional comfort wouldn't contribute to appeasing their calls resounding in his mind...

"Which is exactly why I'm moving," the doctor said with a tired grin, "I have no doubt the beds in your abode are much better than what I use, Forest. I can assure you I'll be able to contribute to the best of my capabilities."

"So, with her out of the way, who wants a tour?"

"I, for one, will like to see what else this place has in store," Henry declared, "Lead the way, Forest."

"Well, I am satisfied for a lack of a better word. And maybe just slightly sore", came from the princess with a bit of a nervous chuckle.

"My apologies, Lady of the Fae, but I am not much one for participating in Tamo Guna. Drinking has been a luxury I have never partaken in, and I would like for it to remain so."

Though Karna did not have the oaths of a Brahmin, preventing him from imbibing alcohol, it was part of his personal dignity to avoid it. A mind dulled by alcohol was vulnerable and weak.

Walking to the kitchen desk, Karna filled up a crystalline canister of water and found a glass as he reached out for one of the samosas, as he balanced the glass on the neck of the canister before taking a seat at the dinner table.

Lancer walked easily with the girls and Captain Candy Floss.  He looked at Neo and said, "You're a right strange one, did you know that?"

Then he looked at Fiore and said, "Mayhap you can tell us something about your brother?"

"Oh. I actually forgot about that, I'm so sorry."

Clearing her throat, Fiore continued.

"Well, my brother's name is Caules, he's slightly shorter than you, Mr. Lancer, has slightly lighter hair than me, and wears the same kind of white and gold uniform as me. And he has glasses. Given our uniforms he should be easy to spot."

Mordred was puzzled by Law's girth, as it was the first time she actually touched somebody's penis, but her curiosity won out. She felt it with her fingers, as if mesmerized, touching every inch of the skin, reaching even his balls. "Looks funny" she giggled awkwardly, her mind intoxicated.

"I would also like it if ya would just ask me for coffee, instead of just staring at me.” He chuckled a bit, “So, how life been treating ya? That project ya working on going well?

Amy could not be more excited, there are two of them, a matching pair. Today could almost not get any better. 

A massive smile showed up on her face as she continued walking down the street pushing the wheel chair, “So, what is your brother like? Personality that is.”

Jubei felt the gaze of one of his customers on him. Quickly glancing he saw it was Fate, someone who frequents. Getting up he went to go prepare his usual, plain black coffee.

Ya should let me make ya a different type of coffee on of these days; it’s good to expand your tastes a bit.” He rather liked Fate really, he was a simple guy from what he could tell, although his taste in coffee was a bit bland.

"I would also like it if ya would just ask me for coffee, instead of just staring at me.” He chuckled a bit, “So, how life been treating ya? That project ya working on going well?

"Thank you, Jubei." he offered simply.

Picking the cup of coffee up, he raised it to his lips to take a sip. A smile graced his features at the hot and rich taste of the drink on his tongue. For Fate, there was no coffee better than the one he first tasted, but there was no doubt Jubei's was among the best he had ever had since he was created.

"In that case, I'll leave the selection to you next time. I trust you won't make it too sweet." the mage began, taking another sip of the liquid and then laying the cup down. "It's convenient that I don't have to speak up for you to understand when I ask for coffee, but since you say so I'll make an effort."

The smile on Fate's face waned slightly as his eyes fell to the folder in front of him.

"Things have been going according to plan for me, so I cannot say I am dissatisfied. As for the project... now that I obtained the aid I sought, it is going to make me busy for a while." he explained, before taking a long sip from his cup.

Jubei chuckled a bit, “Ya, can see somethin' eating at ya about it. I mean sure the work ya will have to do could be what putting ya down, but you don’t seem like the type.”

He looked at the folder that seemed to be causing Fate some annoyance, “I know I don’t look it but this cat has some years in it. If ya need anything ya just have to ask, you’re far more agreeable then the kid I used to take care of. A runt that one, good heart though.”
