Mordred

Quote
The Behemoth bore down upon the knight's sword time and time again, it's razor-sharp claws biting into the silver sword clad with red. But despite it's superior strength, she did not budge much. The Prana-generating heavy breathing of the creature came to a stop as it roared a mighty roar, using it's power over the earth to use the ground under the knight's feet to launch her far into the air, hoping to clamp down upon her like a pair of scissors as she submitted to gravity's hold once more...

Mordred saw through the Beast's intent and she would have none of that. As Behemoth jumped towards her, she dived down herself, dealing as strong hit as she could without activating Clarent Blood Arthur, and slammed it to the ground.

"There is nothing against cleaning up the blood if you really want to," Paladin paused as the sound of sirens filled the air "but it seems like the local law enforcement has been called. We should get moving."

They ran to the entrance of this the zoo only to see that the wagon was gone.

"Well, this is unfortunate. Do you have a plan for getting out of this without hurting the officers? I will not harm them. We can find the wagon later."
His last words were completely drowned out by shock.

The wagon was gone. The wagon was disappeared, kaput, gone. With it, the entirety of my studies on the fog, current society, pre-fog society, mutants... everything! My entire life, gone in the short amount of time it took to murder some defenseless penguins.

So not worth it.

"No, we're finding the wagon now," I growl unhappily. As I did, two police cars came in tow, sirens blazing. They screeched to a halt and four uniformed officers came out. "And I know just who to ask about its location."

"They're at the southern exit, send backup!" One officer yelled into a radio as he got out of his car, an obvious premonition of trouble. He and his three allies drew weapons from their belts and pointed them at us. "Drop your weapons!"

"I have a plan. Paladin, I'm going to ask you to do exactly as I say," I say in a low voice, waiting for his affirmation. I also pull up my Inferno Revolver, big metal piece of shit that it is, and point it at the officers.

Nervousness is clear in their faces, and honestly, it might also be clear in mine.

Shiro

"To be more accurate, it is not what you did, but what you are able to do, Father Shiro." Fate explained, taking his filled drink once the sound of the device had stopped. Raising it to his lips, he took a slow sip of it before continuing. "Feel free to smoke. Can I offer you coffee while we discuss this matter?"

Immediately lighting a cigarette as Fate’s ok Shiro took a deep breath, allowing the ash to fill his lungs. Taking a look out of the window he admired the city’s skyline for a bit, “No thanks on the coffee.”

“Now, what is it I am “able to do” that has you so interested? And also what is this thing you need me for, Jubei only gave a vague idea of what it was.”

Azmortchal'um, as False Face:

All he could do was growl. A destroyed False Face was no real loss, but his existence leaking out right now was the real problem here. The witch appeared to be amused at this particular Azmortchal's predicament, and Azmortchal'um was berating himself for underestimating his opponent: This was the Nexus after all, a place where all realities meet. He was most certainly aware of the other major players here, but somehow this one slipped through the cracks.

She wants to know his name, but seems to believe that this particular False Face was the only one of its kind...Azmortchal'um could work with this...

"I have been called many things," Azmortchal'um spoke while morphing the False Face back to the form of Stephen, the many voices in perfect harmony, "I was first called Morden'fula."

Archer
Forest raised her eyebrow at Archer's words.  Because she couldn't read his thoughts, she wasn't sure if he was being mocking or genuine, or maybe some combination of the two.  At his mention of sweeping, she said, "I have a broom in the closet that's a little up the hall and some trash bags too.  Then maybe some mutual brooding won't be a bad thing."

******

Gabriel watched the exchange with increased interest.  Even without his "sex sense" he could tell, for the first time he could remember, that his godmother was interested in someone that was interested in her. There was chemistry there, definitely, not to mention that both parties were rather repressed.  He sensed that someone had left Archer, much as someone had left his godmother.

"Curiouser and curiouser," he whispered to himself with a smile.

Archer strolled out of the room, smiling to himself a little internally. Maybe luck had dealt him a new hand, but there was still the cards in the middle to deal with. As far as he could tell, he was still a servant, and now one without a contract to fuel him. He'd have some time to find someone new to power him, but making that contract work could be an issue. A distant memory off a ritual he'd needed to perform once before popped to mind. Well. He'd cross that bridge when he came to it. For now, there was work to be done.

Rummaging through the closet, he quickly found the trash bags and broom, along with a dust pan. Returning to Forests room, Archer began the repetitive, but oddly meditative, task of sweeping up the dust, pitching it and the larger pieces into the garbage bags and tying them up. Pitching them against the wall outside Forests room, he assumed a sitting position in front of his new hosts bed. "Now, what to brood about first?"

Forest watched as Archer cleaned up the mess in the room, somewhat enjoying the view.  Admittedly, he was rather efficient and thorough with his work.  Once he was finished, he sat before her and asked,  "Now, what to brood about first?"

Forest toyed with the soft, purple fabric of her comfroter and shrugged.  "It's a long list . . ." she said, toying with the fabric between her fingers while she talked.  "Well, I have this arsehole of a Hindu god in my living room harassing me because he's an almighty wanker.  Oh, and I had my most prized possession utterly and catastrophically destroyed in front of me, which was of the suck.  Oh, and immortality sort of sucks"

Ash nodded and replied, "Seduction has its advantages too.  It puts you at less of a risk if you're in a pinch.  Hunting can be risky, especially in a place where there are monster hunters everywhere.  Hell, there's a dhampire on the police force here."

"Immortality?" Archer raised an eyebrow at that one. "I'm guessing you're a vampire, or a really lucky mage then." A vampire that hadn't already tried to devour him was unexpected, but then again, this wasn't his universe anymore. Perhaps wherever she was from vampires sparkled, or drank life energy or breath or something. "Meanwhile, I have a few days to find someone willing to supply me with magical energy, or I'll fade away. Sort of the opposite of your problem then." He shifted his position a little bit, looking at the young woman playing with the blanket for a second or two. "Can't say I've ever had a Hindu god being a dick to me however. You have me beat there."

"Vampire," Forest said with a nod, "Hence the basement dwelling.  No Crispy Fried Forest."

She caught the surprise in his eyes for some reason.  Probably not used to dealing with Moral Fags like me, she thought.

She grinned and replied, "Beware the white haired guy with the spiky codpiece then.  He's a right piece of work.  He'll start listing your flaws and totally ignore any good you've done.  Still think the Morrigan could kick his ass thought."  She studied him and then asked, "Magical energy how?  I mean, I'm not a witch or whatnot, but . . . I can get my hands on magical energy.  So you don't fade away, because that would sort of really suck."

Smooth Forest.  Really smooth.  Bugger it.

"I'll take that warning to heart." Archer smiled a little bit at Forest's sudden loss of composure. For a supposed terror of the night, the dread Dark Apostle, and whatever titles the bloodsuckers had acquired, it still did them no lick of good when the found themselves tongue tied. "And thanks. I owe you more than just another bed, if you can get me that."

"You're welcome.  Just, I wouldn't know how to give it to you once I got it.  I mean, I knew you weren't Joe Mortal when you crashed in, but different worlds different rules," Forest said, making a circle gesture with her hand.

"I know power can be transferred through blood."

"Blood, contract, other bodily fluids..." Archer nodded. He idly adjusted his cloak, pulling the fabric down and off his legs. "There's a lot of ways to get it. The problem is with getting a constant supply in my case. I do know how to make a contract, but I don't think it'll be needed for a while."

"Not to mention if you're too hasty in making a contract you could theoretically be stuck with someone who's a douche.  Like Karna," Forest said.

She watched as Archer got more comfortable, adjusting the butt cape behind her. Then she processed "other bodily fluids".  "Ah, so you can get it by sex too!  Well, that makes sense.  There are witches I know who boost their powers with shagging."

The vampire scooted over and said, "You know, you don't have to sit on the floor.  There's plenty of room up here."

Karna. Archer's head spun a little at the comment. How did a hero that famous end up here? What were the odds, really, of this? Of all of this. "Ah, yeah, there's certain... rituals, that are powered through sex. It's a quick way to exchange magical energy as well, so it's not that uncommon for some magi to prefer that method over blood." Archer slipped up beside forest on the bed, feeling the smooth purple fabric against his hands once again. "Well, it seemed rude to hop into your bed with you in it without an invitation."

Forest nodded and answered, "Not to mention most people get squeamish over blood.  However, they seem to get squeamish about sex too." Something I know a lot about.

Again, if she had fed recently, she would have blushed about his comment about hopping into bed with her.  "You're really forward you know that."

"I'm not the one inviting men they've only met into their bed." Archer grinned. "Blood is the better method, I feel, especially considering your situation. Can you just, well, suck blood, or inject it as well? "
