Forest looked away and mumbled, "Flatterer.  I honestly don't need that much sleep."

Karna's eyes opened, his meditative state of Turiya coming to an end. There was little point in resting longer, his inhuman physique did not demand it. He took footing once more, placed the pillow he had sat on back in the couch and walking into the kitchen once more, his hands taking things, opening and closing coffers as he searched for ingredients. He had used his authority to gain more knowledge of the culinary arts, and through that he had learned of the dish India had become so proud of.

Curry.

Specifically, red lentil curry.

The only problem was that there was no red lentils to be found, only the green ones he had used for khichdi the night before. This simply would not stand.

With that in mind, he walked to the bottom floor of the compound, finding what he presumed to be her room's door with a pointy-eared man almost pressed up against it, apparently trying to listen in on Karna's host.

"Excuse me, but you seem to be occupying my way."

Without blinking, Karna picked up and moved the man by the collar as if he was a potted plant, before opening the door with no hesitation.

Within the room, Forest was flirting unhesitatingly with Hakuno's "Archer", as he had introduced himself.

"Forest, how can you call your kitchen a kitchen without red lentils? If you are storing them somewhere outside the kitchen, please inform me."

Then, he eyed the tan Servant once more with a raised eyebrow.

"I doubt the Hakuno will approve of this."

Fate

"Ho..." he murmured out in a subtle show of awe, seeing Shirou take out what was undoubtedly a holy weapon to counter his spell. So he had artifacts of this power as well?

However, there was no time to consider this interesting new piece of information due to fast approach of his opponent, attempting to draw things into close range.

Fate kicked off the ground as Shiro approached, earning himself a few precious seconds as he focused magic. The priest had cleanly broken through the pressure of his obsidian swords, true. But only a comparatively small number of them.

"Vishu Tal Li Shutal Vangait." he spoke quickly as his focused power greatly increased.

How would Shiro fare against all that he had to offer, Fate wondered?

"Thousand Obsidian Swords."

An entire sea of dark blades was conjured around Fate, casting an ominous shadow over Shiro as the horizontal distance between them was reduced. With a gesture from both of the mage's arms, the sea moved, turning into a whirlwind of black steel that engulfed the other man.

Shiro

Shiro stopped as the cloud of blacks blades moved at him. Instantly assuming a defensive stance he stood in place, letting the blades close in.

There was a simple flaw with attacks such of this, namely that not every part of it was possible to aim at the target, instead covering a wide area to prevent dodging. So to someone without Shiro’s skill this attack would be fatal, but to him, it was no more than the same as what Fate fired at him before.

Once again the blades crossed the threshold and were cut and knocked aside. It was an unpassable wall of defense, each blade that needed to be cut was cut, but no more and no less. Many of the blades passed by him, some simply a hair’s length away from giving him a cut, having been determined that they were not going to hit him.

And the moment the last necessary blade was cut Shiro moved. And finally within range of Fate his lance flashed forward, and the holy blade of the 4th Scripture that was unmatched in the modern world moved to pierce Fate.

As the last few advertisements that neither Shirou nor Assassin paid attention to ended, Caster turned the corner, a plastic bucket the size of half his torso cradled by one of his arms as he spotted the duo and took his seat.

"What in the world did you buy this time, Caster?" asked Assassin as she eyed the odd-looking foodstuff.

"The most wonderful food I have ever seen, simple in concept yet delicious due to what is put on it." I popped several of the corns in my mouth, butter and salt flooding my tongue as I looked forward towards the front of the theater. My eyes widened.

"What is this!? Where is the stage!?! Did I make a mistake of theaters? Oh Master, forgive me if we were taken for fools!"

Lawrence and the Driver

Benjamin Saylor

Two men were in an office, both of them had a steel briefcase at their sides. The one that was sitting was dressed in a fashionable suit and sporting a rather large beard, a rather old man with gray hair. The other was standing and was in an open jacket that showed off his chest to the world, had blue hair with a large stitched scar over his left eye, and finally had two large metal cannon hanging on his back.

The one with blue hair began to speak, “Well, I got what you wanted.” He placed his case on the desk on the desk in front of the old man, before opening it revealing vials of dark liquid. “All the hydra blood you ordered, no idea how those guys got their hand on it though, this is nasty stuff, not common either.”

The only man simply chuckled, “No it is not, the nature of the nexus proving to be rather profitable in this case. You see why I hired one of your expertise in this sort of situation?” Putting his briefcase on the desk he opened it, revealing what looked like platinum bars. “And here is our payment as discussed.”

Quickly counting the bars he closed the briefcase, before nodding and closing the one filled with vials. Then he simply took both cases and placed them at his sides.

The old man simply raised an eyebrow and frowned, “What are you doing now Benjamin, we had a deal.”

The newly named Benjamin simply look at the man, “Ya, we did. And it would have been fine if you did not FUCKING LIE TO ME!” He yelled and slammed his hands down on the desk. “I explicitly asked who I was stealing from, and you said to me they were simply a bunch of troublemakers.” He leaned down lower and looked the older man in the eye, “Not a fucking group of vampires.”

The old man started to be obviously intimidated, “Now Benjamin, lets not do anything you might regr-“ He was cut off when Benjamin grabbed his throat with his right hand.

“No, I make it perfectly clear. You are upfront about a job, no smokes and mirrors, no lies. You broke that one rule I have.” Picking up the man he grabbed both brief cases with his free hand and walked over to the large window overlooking the street. It was fairly empty below, but he could feel the fight happening not too far away and the bounded field that was set up, seems like a rush job.

“Now? You get to be an example.” And with that he threw the man, breaking through the window and sending him plummeting to the ground below, landing in the middle of the street, in clear view of a man driving a Firebird down the street at high speeds. He died on impact.

Then, holding a brief case in both hands he walked out the new exit, falling without a care feet first. The wind brushed by his ears and face, but his face remained perfectly calm.

Then a second latter he hit the pavement, lowering to a crouch as the sidewalk cracked and indented beneath him. Then he simply stood up, not even any hint that he fell over 6 stories.

"You don't fuck with me old man."

The boneyard fell away as the figure of a man suddenly filled Law's windshield

'The fuck-'

Blood splattered everywhere as the man impacted on the Firebird's hood, organs rupturing and the man's skull cracking open like an egg. Streaks of red liquid painted Law's hood and windshield streaks of it running down the even redder paint job as Law nearly lost control before slamming down on the breaks as another man suddenly crashed down in front of him. Lawrence barely managed to avoid hitting him, the Firebird screeching to a halt, leaving skidmarks on the asphalt.

'JUST HAPPENED HOLY SHIT'

A pair of men fell out of a building. One's fine. The other's currently a fresh paint job on your hood.

'HOLY FUCK DID I JUST ACCIDENTALLY KILL A GUY'

Whoever threw him is probably responsible. Calm down.

'Oh god he probably dented the hood oh god there's blood everywhere on the windshield I don't want to scrape it off god this is a nightmare.'

Pulling to a stop, Law rolled down a window next to the man who just fell - and wasn't dead. "Holy shit, you OK? Jesus Christ, I almost hit you there."

"What is this!? Where is the stage!?! Did I make a mistake of theaters? Oh Master, forgive me if we were taken for fools!"

"Oh I guess you of all people would be surprised at this. Modern theaters with live acting is a rarity and of dubious quality in the modern day, so a lot of classic works and other things have instead been pre-recorded onto devices called "cameras". They used to only take pictures but it seems that they have evolved enough to be able to record video." Shirou explained, trying to calm Caster, who looked as if he had seen a ghost that burned books.

"So no, Caster, we were not taken for fools. It is merely how modern man does things", Shirou finished, reaching out to try a single pinch's worth of the snacks Caster had brought. They tasted great, just as the bard had told in his usual over-the-top manner.

"You know, these things are actually quite good. Assassin, you should try this", briefly stealing the plastic bucket from Caster's hands so as to let Assassin reach. The Crucifixion rose in her hand made grabbing a few awkward, but she eventually caught some between her pointer, middle and thumb. Even as she displayed some reluctance in eating such a greasy food, her Master nodded his head at her, silently signaling that it was alright. With that, she gave in and bit into the popcorn.

"This is both unexpected and... pleasing. I guess our wily friend does have a decent idea now and then", uttered Assassin, surprised that the snack didnt kill her on the spot. In fact, it was actually quite good.

"Excuse me, but you seem to be occupying my way."

Before Gabriel could turn or reply, he was being lifted out of the way.  The door to his godmother's room was opened and the white haired man walked in.  Even though Gabriel knew nothing explicit was going on, the door had been closed.  He straightened the lapels of his robe as he walked into the bedroom.

"Forest, how can you call your kitchen a kitchen without red lentils? If you are storing them somewhere outside the kitchen, please inform me."

The flash in Forest's indigo eyes was one Gabriel was all too familiar with.  Yet, other than sitting up, the eternal teenage girl made no movements.  Gabriel cleared his throat and said, "It is considered rude to enter someone's bedchambers without permission.  It is even in more bad taste to move someone out of the way without asking first.  Especially to ask about something as inane as red lintels."

A smile flickered over his Godmother's features before she looked at Gabriel and asked, "How long have you been out there?"

"Since I heard the rather loud crash, but since things were going so well I decided not to interfere,"  Gabriel said with a smile and shrug of his own.

Forest sighed and said, "Okay, this isn't Hakuno's Archer.  Other reality and all of that.  Not to mention he smells like magic so don't go presuming I'm some homewrecker.  You've done enough of that tonight anyway."  Then she looked at Gabriel and asked, "Red lintels?"

"I don't use them in my cooking so no, we don't have any.  It's more of an Eastern flare and I'm obviously more Western in the kitchen," Gabriel answered with a smile, "However, if you want red lintels, there is a Whole Foods Market not even five miles from here."

Ash smiled at Ellen and said, "That's expected for fledglings.  You'll be exhausted by the time the sun rises.  I have an extra bedroom where you can sleep the day."

Benjamin Saylor

Benjamin simply looked at the man with the rather nice car; it would probably be worth a pretty penny. “It would not have mattered if you did.” He walked over to the corpse and inspected the body.

It was a moment before he pulled out a wallet; not finding much he sighed and it back down. “Probably too damaged to salvage anything.” he quietly mumbled. Shame, it would have probably got him some profit on the black market.

And with that he simply started to walk away. However he stopped for a moment and turned to look at the man, “You should probably drive another way, you are going towards a fight and further into a bounded field.”

A warning was the least he owed the man for denting his car.

"That's... so nice. Good I'm not a bother. Too much." Ellen gave her all to not yawn in front of her sire. "Yup, I need some good day's sleep, too much happened tonight for my liking".

"Honestly, I won't ask about yours if that was really that bad." Ellen remarked while following Ash to what was meant to be her room for now "I guess for me 24 years of peaceful life are now over and I'll have to deal with that."

Archer propped himself up on his elbows, eyeing the new arrival with a trained gaze. The Whitehaired one was obviously Karna, and the second... he didn't know. Though so it was true there was another version of himself here, with some strange girl. Paradox, in and of itself. Perhaps that was why he was sent here rather than back to work when he died.

The fact that the second was watching them - and apparently not interfering in order to set up Forest with him - and the casual attitude Forest gave to his comments indicated they were close. Friends, likely, considering Forest's nature, and the pointed ears were a dead giveaway to his unearthly heritage. "If anyone's wrecking a home at the moment it's me, though more accurately I wrecked a bed. Don't worry Karna, I'm not going to steal anything from another version of myself.

The mention of a food market got him suddenly interested. "If you're going out to that Market, I'll tag along."

Fate

Fate's expression froze in wonder in the time it took Shiro to cut away most of his spell. As he sliced and diced through the brunt of the vortex of death, he beautifully weaved through the sharp remnants. And in an instant, the priest was upon him.

The holy spear pierced Fate's chest cleanly in a flash of light. His body lightly twitched from impact with a vacant expression, ragdolled along the momentum of the stab.

And then, before the moment was over, the effigy dissolved into droplets of water, and Fate appeared behind Shiro.

Spinning around to face his opponent, out of a soundless Instant Movement that couldn't be called anything short of perfect, the mage clenched his fist. Three more stone spears he had readied mid-motion fired at Shiro aimed not at the center of his body, but at the extremities of his silhouette as if to restrain him. And simultaneously, Fate formed a cross punch with explosive power directly at the priest's back.

Shiro

Shiro felt it the moment the blade pierce Fate’s body. A fake form, it was not close enough to flesh.

Then he felt a presence on his back. Immediately dismissing his spear he dropped to the ground, with a perfectly timed crouch. The magic infused punch passed by his head and made him stagger slightly from the shockwave as the three blades flew to the left, right and top of his head.

Immediately recovering his balance he grabbed Fate’s outstretched arm and threw him into the air. Dropping a specialty flare from his pouch to the side of him he filled the room with light. And with the light new shadows were formed.

Being in the air Fate certainly could not dodge, and so his black key flew towards both the long shadow formed from the flare and Fate himself, the shadows were so long that even when Fate hit the ground it would still be binding him.
