Fanged Foursome

Angelus smirked and said, "Well, that's a name and a hair color.  Something we can work with."  He moved forward towards her and said, "So, do you have a name, dear?"

Deborah

She was certain that only revealing her first name would be harmless. As she knew it firsthand, without complete True Name there was no way a sorcerer or other practicioner of magic would exploit that. "My name's Deborah. I'm named after the only female Judge of Israel. I guess that could have been one of reasons why my sire chose me to continue the mission of the Dark Prophet Longinus"

What the hell?

Ezra kicked off of the wall, his mind made up. He couldn't ignore something like this, something that concerned his ancestor. Like the rest of his family, Ezra had read the Bible back to front, and as much of the assorted (correct) mythos to boot, and there was nothing in it about the Prophet Longinus. As a Saint, yes, as some kind of Dark Messiah, no.

The spear bearer swiveled into the sight of the four vampires, a little ways behind Deborah. He only called out to her though, ignoring the menacing stares of the others. He could deal with them, but there was something he had to know first.

"Excuse me, but I heard you say Dark Prophet Longinus. What made you come to the conclusion Longinus was a Prophet?"

Lorenzo Remei

Under the icy grasp of the night, a lone shivering figure walked down the empty streets of Nexus City.
Drool dripping from his mouth, eyes staring blankly at the endless horizon, his steps were dragging on as if his feet were sinking into the ground.
What it sought, no one knew for sure...

Suddenly, a grumbling noise erupted from the man's belly, a tremendous roar from the bottomless pit that is the stomach urging him to eat something. But he couldn't, for he had no food begin with.
"Damn, I guess there's only so much I can do on without a meal..." He sighed, letting out a dry chuckle.

His trembling body, seeking heat that couldn't be found, surely wouldn't last much longer. No, it shouldn't be lasting to begin with: the man did not eat for weeks, and the cold of the city was completely alien to him, who was used to the warm beating of the sun.

He would, under normal circumstances, create a pyre and warm himself up, but alas such a thing would require magical energy, and the very use of magecraft under these conditions would completely exhaust what little kept Lorenzo conscious. Thus, unable to use even the smallest form of pyromancy, unable to warm himself up, he would surely succumb to the cold.

Yet it did not fall, for the man's pride, will and very soul would never allow such a thing. He went on, fighting his screaming body, ignoring the chilling pain and the wailing fatigue that urged him to stop and abandon his path.

Limbs going numb, snow covered the man's back as it laid on the folds of elaborately ornate and coloured clothes, slipping onto his pale skin. Every movement he performed was a miracle by itself, requiring an enormous amount of effort. But even so, the man resisted it all. He wouldn't let them down again, he couldn't. Lorenzo Remei was to strive and persevere, moving forward against the impossible odds.

That was until his he saw it. Cracked windows, old wood miraculously keeping a structure together and a warm inviting smell of roasting meat and aging drink. There was no doubt, it was a tavern!
At the very sight of the inn, he felt a burning passion bursting in his heart, his very blood flowing with the might of a tempest. There was a newfound energy filling the man's very being, he looked at the source of the warmth with a determined look, piercing eyes akin to a starving hound looking down upon a piece of meat.

And he ran. His legs moving as if carried away by the waves of the ocean, his fierce willpower turned into sheer strength The man, tenacious as the storm, reached for the golden doorknob. It was with the might of a bull that he kicked the heavy wooden door, a deep rich aroma of food entered into his nostrils as the warm air enveloped his body, inviting him to step inside. Grinning triumphantly, Lorenzo Remei let out a hearty laugh, a booming voice echoed in the inn as his eyes widened in glee.

"Bwahahahaha, it was no coincidence that the road I took brought me here! Very well, I will be glad to enjoy your company, fellows." He yelled, thundering laughter filling the room as curious faces turned to face him. "Is there any soul fierce enough to share table with me!?" the man roared, pompous bravado unfaltering and a wide smile unfading, even as his legs gave up what little they had left.

EMIYA SHIROU

Shirou generally didn’t drink alcohol, but right now he couldn’t deny he was tempted. It had been a long night.

“No thank you,” he said simply, focused on following after Forest’s vehicle. He clucked his tongue as he had to accelerate well past the recommended speed limit to keep up with the impatient vampire. Yes, much as it had been a shitty evening, now was not the time for him to drown his sorrows.

At the speed they were going, it wasn’t long before Shirou saw the flashing red and blue lights of police vehicles and a barrier of yellow tape. Looks like they had finally made it. Now he just had to find a good space to park in.

SAMUEL IBARRA

“It’s public knowledge that the Nexus police force is assembling a military division with whatever weapons and equipment they can grab. There are also smaller, hidden divisions like the one I’m from that we don’t yet want the public to know about,” Ibarra spoke calmly, hoping that the young man would be satisfied with his answer.

Ibarra wasn’t sure what to make of Mordred though. It sounded like she had been enduring a rough night, but what she was saying sounded a bit farfetched, even for the Nexus. It was possible she’d had too much booze, but he couldn’t smell any alcohol on her.

“Please remain calm ma’am, despite the secrecy this isn’t an evil conspiracy. We just want to look into all of our options to find a way back home.”

Forest

Forest parked the camaro and made sure that Shirou could park the Firebird behind her.  The flashing lights and black and whites were her first clue that she was indeed in the right spot.  Luckily most of the cops knew who she was and they wouldn't have any problems.

She looked at Mia and grinned.  "So.  We're going to play a game.  That game is 'Don't Touch the Dead Body or the Blood on the Wall'.  What you do is not touch the dead bodies or blood on the wall.  What you do is hide behind one of those flashing cars until Shirou or I come find you."

Mordred

"I would like to find way back to the place where I'm needed more, but it should be obvious for you that this city already attracts trouble like a magnet without people tampering around. Seriously, are you that desperate to not take this into account? Do what I'm trying to do. Adapt. This place will more sane if we focus on discouraging troublemakers." Mordred 'lectured' the man. "That one mongrel I skewered today was not enough for me to release my pent up frustration. I wish there was someone really asking for it, I would be in better mood~" she smiled in suspiciously happy manner while musing about such things.

Deborah

The man was really good to not reveal his presence to five vampires before it was too late.

"Are you the Hammer's agent or simply one of Christians? I can understand why you don't have a clue, Yohanan in his writing omitted that 'detail'. He and his fellows were also incorrect about Yehoshua being a 'son of the God', so they are not most credible source in my eyes." Just because of a whim, she felt like 'preaching' to the mortal about the Dark Prophet. It was a breach of the Masquerade, but she could enlighten him a bit before killing him to preserve it. He knew already too much anyway. "See, Longinus was a great sinner cursed by the God for killing one of his virtuous prophets. Then, one of Angels revealed to him the place of vampires in God's plan, and he like Yehoshua and other prophets before gathered followers to spread this revelation among vampires. And here I'm, one of his many spiritual successors. Though, I'm not sure myself, he did Embrace Monachus and given it was about 2000 years ago there is a possibility his childe's childer and so on are still around. As my sire cannot reliably trace my lineage that far, there is still slight possibility" She did not really believe in that claim herself, but she hinted at it nevertheless to screw around with the mortal.

David

"If you want to fight something I would be more than happy to oblige you." With those words The Joyous and The Scholarly shimmered out of existence and in their place was a robed figure whose face was hidden by an infinite darkness. The Hidden walked towards Mordred until they were separated by about ten feet.

Then David called out to The Hidden. "It would be unfair if you were to use your other talents. Just fight her without them." If an empty void could look annoyed then The Hidden pulled it off perfectly. It shook its hooded head in exasperation before focusing on the casually dressed woman and revealed the six throwing daggers that it had perfect obscured in its cloaked hands.

"You may begin whenever you wish to, Mordred."

Mordred

"Though it's not a knight, but a familiar, I will accept the challenge. But, I cannot duel you without my Glamour replenished, so I guess I shall do it now" She reached for her pockets and took out six berry like fruits. "Those have no special effect on me other than restoring my energy." she explained. After eating the fruit, she was certainly in better mood. "To ensure it's only between me and your champion, I will create a barrier seperating us two from outside interference. It is temporary though, so if our duel is not finished before my Contract expires then we need a third party to judge our performance. That soldier would do" she looked at Ibarra.

"Preposterous! Not me? I'm the judge, lass!" Puck sputtered out, "Why would you entrust this with some random dude?"

How rude, to not take him into consideration. This will not do! He flew between both the familiar and the knight in the garb normally worn by sumo referees, gyōji. Complete with the traditional uniform, fan, tabi, and hat from the Ashikaga period.

"Mattanashi kamaete, kiddos!" he chirped while waving the fan.

Rebeca

She totally didn’t have bike envy… It’s not like she always had to walk places, and this city was huge and anything.

She was totally not jealous.

Not at all

Rebeca glanced at the bike before looking back at Donkey, “Well… It’s like…” She paused for a moment, “This place kind of takes things from other worlds, I guess it would be?” She tried to explain. “From any world, from any time, and any place, it can potentially end up here.”

She shrugged, “The biggest thing you really should be careful of is the vampires, they have this whole district, and find some place to stay so you don’t turn into a midnight snack for something.”

She wondered if she should offer, but her apartment was not really all that big.

Mia

Mia kept her eyes on Shirou as she was dragged away from him and the meanie by Forest and helped back into the car.

It was not long until they arrived at a place, there were a lot of people, a lot of strangers, with many flashing cars and this weird yellow tape.

Mia looked up at Forest with a frown in her face. She didn’t want to hide; she wanted to stay with Shirou or Forest, why would she tell her to go hid behind one of the cares, why would she not take her with her. And so unsure of what to do she looked to the care Shirou was in.

Certainly he would not tell her to stay by herself. Shirou was really nice. He would not make her lonely again.

Sarse

The Angel of Choice frowned as he felt Ann unleashing her power in the symphony. He nearly got up and dashed there, but seeing as she seemed to be headed back now, he waited, preparing to object to her loose use of her abilities. As she came in view, Sarse got up and opened his mouth to reproach her.

"What are you thinking, going wild like -", he began, blinking in surprise as he acnowledged the one accompanying her back into the restaurant. The man's symphony tingled with the use of power though he appeared mortal, as well as an indentifiable tint of calmness and nature. A mortal sorcerer? A shaman, as some cultures called them?

The celestial sighed, then asked, "She got you too?"

Elyssa met the wall, and started to phase through it with a loud, high pitched hiss.

It was dark inside. Really dark.

Elyssa switched out from her standard optics to nightvision, doing a quick survey of the environment while holding onto the Mage Spy. With no responses or sudden movements, the Warmonger judged the location to be secure enough for the time being. She tossed the man to the ground and quickly placed one of her feet onto his stomach, pointing her casting arm directly to the Spy's forehead.

"You will tell me your name now, Mage." That wasn't a request.

The bottle was considerably less filled by the time the Firebird pulled to a halt outside the crime scene, Law draining hte last couple of drops into his mouth as he stepped outside, chucking the bottle hap-hazardly into a nearby bin. Through some miracle, he actually made the shot. Still. It was freezing cold. He was in his boxers. All his damn scars were highly visible at the moment, including the faint trace of one his driver had given him not too long ago. Plus a bit of dried blood, which he idly brushed off as he cocked his head at the scene.

A slightly confused paramedic gave him a blanket.

Are you going to make it into a cape?

Fuck yeah I am!

Good boy.

Law strolled confidently into the building, took one look at the scene, and abruptly evacuated his stomach's contents into a nearby trashcan. The feeling of death, that chill in his gut was all over this place. It was beyond fresh too.

"You will tell me your name now, Mage." That wasn't a request.

Surprisingly, the robot carrying him didn't simply break the wall down, instead opting to walk right through it with a loud hissing noise.

Whatever it is she used to do that, I want one.

We already have one, we just need to figure out how to use it.

Shouldn't take much, just a bit of tinkering.

Only because we've seen it used.

Well, it should be the same general theory for the other stuff she's got on her. I mean, they're all runes.

At this point, the awkward pair have made their way into the warehouse proper, to find that it's not a warehouse at all. The pitch-black surroundings are a non-issue for Adjutor, who looks around for a moment before being unceremoniously thrown to the floor and finding himself under the robot's foot with a pair of rods of some kind- ah, it seems to be a conduit of some sort. Likely something made to compensate for the lack of flesh and blood to channel the magical energy.

So this one has spells aside from the runes...

Makes sense, would be rather unfortunate if the runes were somehow damaged beyond use.

Then the robot makes its demands known, with the twin rods still pointed at the teen's head.

"Adjutor Xarrest," he says simply, "Would it do any good to say that this isn't necessary if all you want is information?"

Then Adjutor's eyes are drawn to the runes on the leg holding him down, taking a moment to memorize those, he then notices more runes, different ones this time, on the arm holding the casting rod, and takes a moment to study those as well.

Well this is certainly an interesting place.

More pressing question is whose house we've ended up in this time...
