Rider silently watched the reunion between the two lovers, a smile on her face, happy that she seemed to have found not only a version of Shirou, but her version of Shirou.
However, when she heard the final exchange between Shirou and Sakura, she became somewhat concerned. Having lived with the two of them for 30 years, she knew both of them and their relationship well, and she understood the source of tension between them. Shirou was and always had been entirely lacking in any sense of self-worth. He wanted to protect Sakura, but his lack of self-worth meant that he could not understand that putting himself in danger would cause her to suffer emotional anguish. At the same time, though, the Sakura she knew had been considerably more accepting of Shirou's general desire to protect people, so she found this Sakura's possessiveness and insistence on him not trying to protect her rather surprising. Her Sakura would never have tried to control Shirou in that manner. Of course, being in the Nexus for heaven-knows-how-long without Shirou had certainly not helped matters but, even so, this Sakura seemed somewhat more unstable and selfish than the one she knew.
Rider knew that she needed to help them understand each other better. Shirou would never give up his desire to protect, and Sakura could never recover if he were to get himself killed, which was a real danger in this world. As Sakura attempted to pull Shirou up, she walked towards them, smiling.
"Shirou, I know you want to protect Sakura, and I understand that. But, your well-being is more important to Sakura than anything else. If you come to any harm, she may never recover. There may be times when you need to fight, but you must always make your survival a top priority. Not for your own good, I know you are too selfless for that, but for Sakura's", she said as she came close to them, still clearly smiling.
"Now, Sakura, how should we get back to your house? Vanguard got side-tracked, unfortunately, he will return to the manor when he is ready."
