Elizabeth

"I only offer my teachings to those whom I think deserve it, Hannah." She got up, walked forwards, and gently pushed Hannah's hands down, taking the maid uniform and looking at it. Her form adjusted to Hannah's proportions in front of the girl's eyes before she began putting it on. "And you, my dear, are worthy of my attention."

Hannah

She swallowed at that. The outfit was one of Hannah's favorites, and she often made adjustments to it so she could wear it with her body types too. But to see Elizabeth so easily do what she did, see her wearing it. The material of the uniform was high tier, and attempts to tear it with even the strength of a beast didn't seem to do more than stretch the fabric. It even felt comfortable to be in, albeit tight in just the naughtiest sort of ways beneath the skirt and around the chest with the garter.

"I'll, ahh, I'll do my best to live up to that expectation!" Hannah bowed her head for a moment.

Elizabeth

"You will." Elizabeth sounded like she had absolute certainty. She slipped into it easily, humming happily at the pleasant feel of the material. Her tail poked out of the back, and Elizabeth posed for Hannah, sticking her ass out at her. "How do I look?"

Hannah

"... like I want to spank you and have you call me mistress," Hannah admitted with a red face while poking her fingers together. "Ah, I mean, you make it look even better than it is!"

It was really hard to look at Elizabeth's face right now.

Valerie

Noticing his odd arm thrust, she leaned to the side and hissed in pain as the arc of lightning grazed her side. "Beautiful, such beautiful determination, to have already wounded me, you... Yes you, you are worthy. Ahhh my senses has not dulled in the slightest... It hurts so much."

She twirled around once more but didn't actually leave the spot. "Ohhh come at me my dear." She thrust the scythe into the ground between legs and begun..... grinding on it. "Come at me, ravage me just like before!"

Inside the Inner World

His eyes stared at her for a moment, until suddenly a cold fury flashed over them. A child would go that far? That alone, that sin, it was too much. It was-

"Preposterous." He muttered, and the light washed everything away. In a moment, Aruna, Piece, both were gone. Rejected into the void, into something else, anywhere but the innards of his heart.

And soon that too would disappear, blackened and crumbled away. The world shook, as if an earthquake was rattling this sad glass dome, causing it to crack into oblivion. All that was left was a sinner and his grace, cradling him and growing in size in the middle of it all.

The twisted woman distorted and clutched at his remnants more and more, the child's embrace became more and more suffocating. The light was everywhere, it embraced him like a child and took it into him. It was warm, comforting, and sickening in its blinding promises.

And yet he accepted that. Just like the light once accepted him. All of it. His sorrow, his despair, it was too overwhelming for a single soul. It was so easy, relaxing, letting yourself be washed away. A mere child could do it so thoughtlessly.

And more than anything, one thing had not changed.

He was tired.

"How foolish I was... there's a limit even to foolishness. But the one I can't forgive..."

He grit his teeth, his fists clenched harder. Meanwhile, the hug wrapped more and more around him, until his body was barely visible. Even his fist, trembling with unquenchable rage could not be seen.

His lips moved once, a drowned voice trembled between their assuring shines, their sweet promises of what he desired oh so dearly. His fingers wrapped around his angelic wings. The light of his grace that could once soar so high, while he laid so low. So these over-glorified antennae were those of his brethren? What a joke. He had to laugh. No wonder he had deserted after all.

So this was it, huh?

"...one."

He only had to rip once.

"BEGONE!!!"

And so, everything turned to nothing. The grace, the inner world of machinery, the false greenery. To one who lost everything, that rubbish was worth nothing. His rage and indignation snuffed the light, cast it away, and ripped the darkness from its cage.

The crack in the nexus sky grew more and more, until a hole finally shattered. And so the fallen piece and the guardian fell down to whence they came, the world of the nexus  was ready to accept them again. Around them, the torn and shattered fragments of the grace fell like countless shards of a massive corpse, or perhaps a cocoon. Countless corpses of ancient angels and demons fell, lifeless like discarded machinery. But amidst the falling structures, monuments and the grace itself, the one they knew as Asmael was nowhere to be seen. His presence had utterly vanished.

He was no more. She would never hold him again. Such was the fate that had been preordained.

Aruna

Aruna couldn't help but wince as the light returned to her eyes, blocking it out with her hand.  But she wasn't staring at the light.  She was staring at the ground, which was getting closer.  Yes, her body was plummeting to the ground.  She stared down her body, towards the sky, only to see a cacoon.

What on earth happened?

She turned her head, only to see corpses upon corpses of her brothers and sisters, light and dark all falling from the sky.  As Aruna reflexively sprouted her wings, her entire body shuttered.  Her pupils darted all around her eyeballs, looking for Asmeal amoung the carnage.  It was slim, but perhaps she had succeeded in saving him, maybe.

Just as she was about to hit the ground, a might flap of her wings stopped her, allowing her to float just above the ground.  Frowing, she shouted as loud as she could.

"Creature?  Asmeal?  Are you alive?"

Aruna

As the bodies fell to the ground next to her, she shot through the streets, rubble and brick shooting into the air behind her, upheaved by the sheer velocity of her flight.  "Asmael!  Asmael!  ASMAEL!"

Still nothing.

She began searching each body, running her hands along each body, seeing if she could feel him.  She must have checked at least a dozen bodies, looking at their faces, hoping it was him but... no... nothing.  He was gone, dead, forgotten.

Tears rolled down her face, falling to the corpse under her chin.  "I couldn't save him...."

If only she had more power. If only she didn't show weakness then. Maybe then she could have saved that soul.

But now there was nothing left to save.

The arm of light glowed where her stump once stood. It was weaker than before, but the baleful light was almost mocking her in its shine.

Sacrifice everything, and lose everything. In the end, the only thing she gained was her own perdition... and his.

But it's fine. Now, you have that power. Everything will be alright.

Right?

Aruna

Aruna stared at her arm, the tears flowing faster.  All of that for that power?  She didn't even want it anymore.  The power of light that had thwarted her in the past, no all of the darkness, was now taunting her.  "I wish I could trade you for him...."

But she knew he wasn't coming back.  It was finally over.

Piece

It had already reformed its arm by the time Piece had been cast out from the area. When it hit the ground it slipped silently into a shadow and emerged unharmed. Around it was a feast, a trove of treasures and bodies alike. Potential suffused the air, purpose beyond its minor existence. So Piece took on the form of a beast, sleek and insatiable, before tearing into the bounty. It gorged itself on flesh, swallowed up treasures, filling shadow with substance. It was a completely foolish choice. There really was no reason for a living, thinking being to do such a thing. It was beyond the whims of even the most reckless person.

They were objects of incompatible nature. Even as Piece swathed itself back in shadowy flesh its body burned with the competing energies. It looked up the sky, the crack in the vault of the heavens, and the endless city. The world had never seemed so real to the pawn. Its body distorted. flickering like a mirage. "...How ugly. I never realized how ugly this world is, my master! Kyahahahahahaha--" And then it dissolved.

It had seen all that its master had thought to see. It had stuffed itself with baubles and oddities to be prodded at. It had seen the world, and it understood that this too was mercy.

Yusho

The terrestrial exalt exhaled, shaking his head. His voice hitched like a crackling flame. "I can hardly leave you hanging then...!"

He zigzagged towards the vampire, each step followed by golden sparks. His body blurred as he ducked low, outstretched fingers aiming for pinpoint strikes that would pierce deeply and mark her spirit, the other arm reaching to seize the scythe and divert it mid-swing. Valerie was simply faster than him on the offensive. If she swung with the whole momentum of the twirling weapon, he wouldn't be able to avoid injury entirely, but he could open her arm to his attack.

Valerie's eyes widened ust a fraction as his form egun zigzagging towards her, she followed his path with her aze and readied her fearsome weapon.

Unfortunately for the Monk, the weapons she wielded could used for more than swinging.

The Vampire King thrust her scythe forwards as if it were a spear, just like one of those it had far greater range than someone who was unarmed, unlike a spear however it had a blade attached at the end and said blade had more than one edge.

"Were you so distracted by my display that you could not even see the design of my Essence Reaver?"

Yusho

Yusho knew his way around a spear, and he'd seen what her weapon could do, but it wasn't a spear, and he didn't expect her to use it as one. The movement of the air warned only in time for him to grit his teeth.

He interposed his hand, and the outer crescent of the blade bit deeply into his palm past the hardness of barkskin and stone. The dragon-blooded felt the drain down to his essence, but diverted it - the Essence Reaver sailed under his arm rather than stab his chest, cutting another vampiric gash on his flank.

"You're a distracting foe! Hei-yah!"

His jab found its mark on her arm, stinging past ligament and muscle, and Yusho swallowed the pain to follow up. He thrust his igniting elbow towards her torso, guided by the soul-mark. No retreat from inside her guard now.

Nanako

Nanako bolted upright, mind muddled in a sleepy sort of intoxication, blinking a few times only to find that, instead of the unfamiliar ceiling she'd fallen asleep under with Justice, she'd been curled up next to one of her brothers. For that matter, why did the bed feel like it was higher than it should've been? Pushing herself out, the squirrel girl was surprised by distance to the floor, coming to a shaky landing and looking down to realize she was her barely adolescent self again.

Guess that answers the question of which part of that whole day was a dream.

Shaking her head, Nanako stepped out of her room as quietly as she could manage, looking outside only to realize that it was snowing. Not to mention it was far brighter outside than it should've been for her to be the only one awake. Blinking as she raised a hand to shield her eyes from the glare, the squirrel girl stepped outside, what should've been the chill of concrete against her feet barely registering. Past the worn collection of bikes and the dented and rusty old car tucked into an open garage, and picked up a hand full of snow. To her confusion, where she should've felt a sudden chill, she only felt soft warmth and mild fluff, just like a bird...

Then realization struck and she stumbled back, tossing the feathers from her hands, only to trip back into the bank of what should've been snow. Her arms sank in as she tried to push herself out of the mess, Nanako scrabbling for purchase, for a grip on the stone pathway leading to her house, only to find the rest of her sinking down into mess underneath the feathers, warm and throbbing and growing dark as the feathers closed over the opening where she'd sunk down.

"Did you even give it a chance?" came a voice, familiar yet unfamiliar, clawing at the back of her mind, "Before you started ripping them to shreds? Straight to violence, eh?"

And then she was on the sidewalk, now on a bustling Nexus sidewalk. The crowd seemed to be parting around her like the current around a boulder lodged in a stream, but it was otherwise a normal scene. Still quivering for a moment after what just happened, Nanako eventually mustered herself up enough to stand, thankful that the crowd wasn't carrying her off with the flow. The squirrel girl looked down at the herself to find she hadn't gone back to her normal self yet, before she noticed small feathers falling down around her and looked up again only to find the streets suddenly deserted of people and vehicles alike. Dull worry spiked as that something clawed at the back of her head all over again, Nanako looking back for a moment, still seeing nothing. When she turned back around, however, the area was devastated with nary a sound, shattered glass strewn about, burned out wrecks of cars littering the road pockmarked with blasted craters.

"Were you so sure you were right?" the voice clawed at her, Nanako gritting her teeth as it dragged cruel tendrils of memory across the backs of her eyes, her stomach feeling like it was dropping into a pit as she turned again to see those glowing feathers raining from the sky, rusted gears tearing gouges the clouds and the falling feathers as they crashed down, crumbling to dust that blurred her vision. She raised her hands to shield her eyes, only to find she was her normal self again. Screams rang out, colored with that desperation she didn't want to remember, Nanako shutting her eyes and clapping her hands over her ears again, feeling crumbling metal dust rush past her. And then it was over, the screams and the dust alike, Nanako tentatively opening her eyes again and letting her hands fall away, only to take a step back at what she saw. Rows and rows of angels, just like before. Just like back then. The squirrel girl took another step back, but the angels' first steps forward saw them collapsing in on themselves, wings shattered, flesh pulverized, viscera spraying and mixing in with the mess.

"Tore us up good, you did," came the shambling voices as the mounds started to move anew, congealing into a mass of many eyes and many wings, "Had help, but you didn't slack off either. Did it feel good? Tearing into something so weak?"

Nanako was past words, just shaking her head and taking another step back, then another. Then she crouched and leaped away with all the force she could muster, only for swarms of those glowing feathers to tear away from the mass, latching onto her back, and her arms before the wings rushed in on all sides, as if to crush her-

This time, it was only Nanako's eyes that flew open, her heart pounding in her chest as she looked around as much as she could without moving so much as a single muscle. Adrenaline pounded through her veins and deep-seated instincts screamed for her to move, but the squirrel girl couldn't. Eventually, she could move again, but still didn't, not wanting to disturb the Rider she'd wrapped herself around. Instead she simply lay there, reorienting herself with her surroundings as much as she could as she tried to decide if it would be worth it to try to get more sleep. Though Justice's warmth and smell were small comforts, she latched on to what she could, aside from the Rider himself, as she tried to calm her racing heart and try to at least relax.

Valerie

Blistering pain flared through her arm.

But pain was nothing new to her. If anything it just sharpened her already readied senses to a needle's edge. Instead of retreating or trying to pull the weapon, the Vampire King leaned ack her torso as her balance shifted and a lightning swift kick was sent straight upwards, heading right for Yusho's face.
