Sethrol the Calm

Sethrol grabbed Mira by the shoulders and moved her off of him.  "I can feel something wrong," he said, sighing.  "I know something is wrong.  You were violated, and used for her own pleasure.  I don't want to be too blunt, but she put something inside of you."

The old man began brushing the dirt off of his bare chest.  He could still feel the stings from her punches.  His head felt light.  In truth, he doubted he would be able to win this match at this point.  His body had simply sustained too much damage.  But...

The martial artist's muscles grew tense at that, as Sethrol finally pushed her away. There was a physical distance now that could fit the wall of scabs forming between Mira's heart and his - an outrage of ambivalent providence. All too readily it left her muscles firm and tense, and with a deep breath she could focus. Focus... focus...

Her hands twitched. She spit to the side, as if that would dismiss the foul taste in her mouth, before getting back into her fighting stance. "If ya wanna say stuff like that, say it with your fists. This fight isn't over yet!"

Sethrol tilted his head to the right, cracking his neck.  He rolled his elbow, the crackling of his shoulder filling the entire stadium.  The cherry blossoms swayed from side to side, each pettle dancing in the air in front of them.  The old man could still feel the stinging on his face, the thumping on his chest.  Mira had stuck him hard enough that his massive pecs were covered in a purple bruising.

Moments ago this distance would have driven him insane but in this moment, his mind was clear.  It didn't matter what she thought of him, not right now.

"You said before you didn't understand love right?  Allow me to share my wisdom."

Sethrol bent into his knees, took a deep breath and breathed a heavy sigh.  At the peak of his exhale, the sigh grew into a growl.

"ITS TIME!  SHOW ME YOUR CONVICTION MIRA!  ITS TIME YOU UNDERSTAND THE POWER OF LOVE."

Arena 5

Neil's eyes widened involuntarily as she struck him, more like a hard shove, but still enough to cave his chest in and turn his internal organs to mush. Neil arrested his slide by digging a clawed hand into the outside of her extended arm, stopping himself from moving too far away as his claws raked along her arm before he pulled it back, keeping his gaze locked with his foe.

Blood filled the werewolf's mouth as his insides rapidly rearranged themselves and his torso filled out again, Neil spitting out a mouthful of blood and taking a fresh breath as his lungs pulled themselves back together, instead of being mixed with his intestines like some gory salsa. The pain and the taste of blood in his mouth scraped at those restraints again, another drop into the precariously full cup as he advanced again, keeping a careful eye on her and watching for an opening as he closed in with her.

As he grabbed onto her to stop himself, she grabbed onto him to pull him closer. Her grip was iron, shattering his forearm. With her full strength, she flipped him into the air and then slammed him into the ground in front of her.

Nanako yelped as she darted out of the way of the beam, stopping herself short of the gash Coconut had torn into not only the arena, but the floor itself. A quick glance at the little succubus, however, revealed that she had her attention elsewhere. Namely, on the squirrel girl's firm ass. With that, sparks lit in her eyes as an idea formed.

Grinning slightly, Nanako turned and darted over to the nearest turnbuckle, her tail flicking back and forth behind her and giving Coconut as much of a view of her toned ass as she could want. Leaning against the turnbuckle until the ropes creaked with tension, Nanako kept up the eye-catching movement of her tail and the little peeks under her shorts they offered, looking back at Coconut with a wanton stare.

Falling to the ground, Seras clasped her hands together, a glow simmering in her palms.  It started small, then grew massive.  The black hole sucked her in, sending her flying towards the flurry of punches.  There was no where to run, no where to hide.  So she released her spell early, generating a black spear of great gravitational pull.  She shot the orb behind him, sucking him in just as she was being sucked.  In fact, their magic had equal potency.

Staring at the ground, she gambled that she could ground herself before hitting him, and either prepare another spell or use her superior speed to avoid his blows.

Zeke - Arena 2

Fists. Kickss His entire body launched forward to strike her. And yet, just as he thought he had her, something pulled his blows back. Before he knew it, his body impacted against Seras's darkness. Their two void expanded and rippled accross the fighting ring, causing light to refract and vanish around them. A violent pull that shredded, tore and rent to dust everything around it until it reached its singularity. Even his dark body would take heavy damage if he took a direct hit from that. HOWEVER!

His darkness simply swallowed her mana up, and shredded the fake void to pieces.

"Ahhh~ So deep and strong You taste so goooood!"

And what erupted from Seras's darkness were the light warm ways of the sun.


Impossible! Inconceivable! But how!? The audience gasped at the turn of events, some even clenched at their seats and grew cold. But it were the scholars, those closest to Seras in intellect and in their studies of the arcane that seemed the most shocked. Her black hole had vanished! The attack that caused them to fear and tremble at the mere sight of her... had simply been ripped apart like a joke?

No. No no no no! It was no joke! That spell was certainly a devastating lance. It was that man. It was almost like he was a natural enemy to the arcane. That void...

"No way... was master's strike transported elsewhere? But that... it shouldn't be..." A stern, usually composed mage who was watching from the sidelines now stared, wide eyed. A sudden chill ran down his spine.

"DON'T LOSE, MASTER SERAS!!!!"


"Heeeheheeeee! " With her spell devoured, his glowing body burned like the sun, melting everything nearby and causing the very air and ground he touched to sear and glow like fire. The flurry of blows rushed forward and exploded, smashing the ground to pieces no matter if she dodged or not, causing explosions to launch rubble and melting earth shooting all over like a machine gun blast of shotgun pellets again and again and again!

But every blow he'd launch caused more cracks to appear on his vessel. It was clear that he was putting his own self on the line. And yet, that monstruous smile didn't recede.

Eight different fights flashed before their eyes. Some were happening so quickly that the audience could scarcely keep up, and even many of the demons in the crowd had to strain their eyes and ears to keep up with it. It was so fortunate that Elizabeth had prepared for that possibility, and so there were plenty of instant slower-motion replays and screen splittings to take advantage of! Hannah had taken a moment off camera to pout and resolve herself to figuring out a better way for later.

But at this phase of the fights she was with her other fellow announcer, Cherry, seated across from her and displayed on a side screen. She'd switched to the appearance of a mature older woman with softer brown hair done up tight in a bun, and dressed in business attire with a pencil skirt and lovely black stockings which were crossed one over another. Hannah held a clipboard and, wearing her glasses to put on that stern disciplinarian appeal, peered down at it.

"As our viewers may have picked up so far, a set of common threads begin to emerge from these tumultuous battles. Old friends brought together in conflict, new enemies in friendship - even these opening battles have set the stage for a lifetime of opportunity for today's fighters."

Hannah pushed her glasses up, and passed her clipboard to Cherry as her cue to chime in.

And then she held a hand in front of herself, over her tie, and closed her eyes while pushing her glasses up with one finger of the other hand. "And our remaining opponents continue their fierce opposition, spilling out their hearts - or their sanity - for all of you to witness!"

Sensing the world's energies settling into a tight pattern around her old teacher, Mira pushed off the ground with the explosive force of uncoiling muscle, strong enough to pierce metal and now applied against a false floor. "HAAAAAAH!" Faster, stronger than before, she became a hurricane of fists and feet as she crashed into Sethrol's wall of determination.

Her technique, which before had been filled with fury, was now all the more steady and fluid. Each motion was considered for how to achieve maximum effect, how best to disable a limb or take her opponent's breath away. To the untrained eye it was barely a blur where every motion blasted away petals and cracked the air.

Aira was no longer paying attention to the match of the greatest dojo head against his wayward student. As a practitioner of magic herself, although of a more integral bent to her martial efforts, tearing her eyes away from the spectable produced by dojo head Seras and her increasingly twisted opponent was unthinkable. However the sword she had chosen was a subtler one, her mettle was so distant from that elemental and abyssal fury. She was sure even Master Klearjacc couldn't have done those things, not that he would lose in a duel!

That left Zhang Liu to his morose cogitations. The peak of the clash in Arena 2 was a distraction in passing, but a useful one for the course of his thoughts. As the fight between Mira and his master returned to a more conventional exchange, the emotional high dimming, Liu's smoldering grip on himself cooled, and he rolled the thread of conflict scattered about his inner world into a tight yarn, storing it for later use.

With a deep breath, he laid his hands on his thighs and pursed his lips into a thin line.


Orcus

Unbeknownst to them, another was now watching one of those fights with great engagement, out of all the ones that hadn't concluded yet. A cloaked angel of steel and doom, scantly visible in the mass of sycophants and envious souls, sat easily on the railing of an elevated balcony, stroking his chin with the only hand he had available at the moment.

His maker had left many testaments to futures that may never be, strands ready to weave themselves with a will of their own through whatever tools they may find. Sown in the spine of a burgeoning god was one, and now he was confident he could see split ends that shared the fabric. Another in the current company seemed particularly complex.

The misshapen butterfly called Zeke was awakening to the fact it was only a dream. And in a dream, you can be whatever you want.

Neil

Arena 5

Neil's eyebrow twitched as his forearm shattered in her grasp, the fresh pain surging up his arm and feeding into the cacophony screaming and scraping against the ironclad bands of his will. However, the motion to grab him left Wendy's arm twisted out awkwardly. Moving with alacrity and well-honed skill, Neil pulled himself up with his broken arm as she swung him up into the air, wrapped his legs around her arm, and added a vicious twist of his own to pop her arm out of its socket. With that, the werewolf moved to wrench his own arm free of her grasp.

Arena 5

The fight was long and brutal, but eventually, Wendy managed to finally put Neil down and keep him there. The ten-foot tall Wendigo planted her foot upon the broken werewolf's chest and growled at him. "You were an incredibly tasty morsel-I hope we'll get to play again~"

And then, she exited the arena, leaving the clean up to Liz's minions.

Nanako

Nanako's wanton stare remained as Coconut stayed put, well aware that the chances of the little brat falling for that would've been slim to none, something made obvious as the succubus started jerking herself off. Once Coconut spoke up, however, Nanako let her get halfway through her first question before pulling back sharply. Using the tension in the ring ropes and her own strength, she hurled a large chunk of the wrestling ring itself at Coconut, angling the debris towards the little succubus's eyes to block her view.

In the same moment she let fly with the chunk of the arena Nanako dashed in, picking up a length of chain and a trash can lid on the way, carving a fresh gash in the arena floor with the motion and giving her the opening she needed. With explosive force, she'd leap up and grab at that brat's legs!

Seras

The young woman landed without a problem.  The world seemed to twist and distort as light was sucked into the two voids.  Approaching him was like running head first into an oven running for hours, the heat so intense it caused the world around them to distort.  Now arms length apart from him, she was forced to face his crazed grin.  Once again clasping her hands together, her palms began to glow. 

Seras's body weaved through the fists, yet she gritted her teeth as she braced her body against the blows.  It was as if she was being struck by the heat itself.  She was not longer fighting just him, but herself.  So what?  He brought himself closer to her level this way, but he would still lose if he failed to see past the sun.  And so, she focused long and hard, taking every single "dodged" blow until...

She held her hands out and unleashed the full force of her magic.  The parasyte would have to face the very manifestation of his weakness, THE SUN!  A massive hot orb the size of a building threatened to engulf Zeke.  The already elevated heat soared so high that it set the cracking near lava like ground set on fire.

ZEKE

The two darknesses had clashed. Fate decreed his was the victor. Now, two stars clashed.

This time, fate was on her side.

"Oooooooooooooooooooooooh!!! UOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH!!!!" The dark man's full unbridled power collided against THE SUN in the form of a punch with all his might. The sun crashed against his body with all its might. Seras and ZEKE, only one of them could be the victor!

We really are alike... Thus Zeke decided - to enslave fate. A destiny where his ambition didn't come to pass had no right to exist! He would crush it with his very being! Even while the sun shredded his arm and face to pieces, he roared like a beast.

That unearthly howl would forever be ingrained in the audience's psyche for years. The howl of a man with nothing to lose. Because he was born with nothing, as nothing, with no will of his own.

His body burns under the sun. The fist that struck it breaks into nothingness. However, yet another fist slams into it. This time, a fist of DARKNESS!

This was all... this was all...


The shining lights, the darkness rippling back and forth, and the impacts all shook the arena down to the core. While the audience stared down in disbelief, that same man from earlier just watched on with a calm expression. Meanwhile, its pet bird cackled and gleefully flapped about, finally all hyped up by the finale.

"Khahahah! What a light show! It really is just like back then? How long was it already? A thousand? Two thousand?!"

"A million."

"Holy shit! Time flies! But... do you think it's okay? If he grows too fast, it'll all be for nothing."

"That is possible."

...

The bird flapped around some more, to the shock of many, and just pecked the pale man's temple. "Ow! What was that for?" The fiery creature didn't look amused. "You're getting in your old habits. If you keep keeping your eyes closed, chances and opportunities are going to keep passing by until it's too damn late! Just like with that hot Nep chick, you could've just gotten a strong body without this whole hassle! Why keep playing around?!"

The dark man looked down at the fight, rubbing his temple with a pout. "Why so surprised? You know I'm this way, I'm never going to change anyways. You could say..." A cold smile grew on his lips as he watched the fight. "This is my way."

Much like the man fighting down below, he didn't like going for the easy way. He'd much rather keep suffering and struggle like a lowly worm than have to change for anyone or anything. This punishment was also necessary.

All for the sake of his dream.


FOR THE SAKE OF MY DREAM!

The black fist shot through and shattered the sun, devouring it without mercy. However, it came at a heavy cost. He acted quickly, but his choice was wrong, so he suffered severe wounds before he could reactivate Darkness. To make things worse, her sun was even more potent than he counted for. Had he activated it a moment later, he would have certainly died.

Instead, he knelt in front of the fighter, his one arm a cracking mess and his face completely hollow and caved in.



"Haaah....aaahhh...hahhh...Ahhhhhh... that felt good. I haven't had such a fun fight in ages, human. " Slowly, the cracked vessel moved as if it were puppeted by something else. It seemed the impact was so strong, he awakened again. No, something about this man was different. It wasn't pretending anymore.

Whatever was in front of Seras right now and getting back up, made no pretenses whatsoever of its monstruous nature... or state.

"No... not a human... you're different from those complacent worms. Seras... hero of talent... fighting you was one of the reasons I joined this joke of an event."

Kh. Just as he tried to get back up, he stumbled and lost balance, falling on his crumbling knee pathetically in front of everyone else. "Heheeee.... how fun ~ "
