Having taken a taxi, he thanked the driver and offered him a generous tip with the same pleasant smile. On the way up the hill, he picked up a few flowers off the ground gently, and took the time to enjoy their scent. He even went so far as to gift a charming lady one of them. An offer she found quite hard to refuse.
Finally, he reached the hillside view of his villa. You could even see a lake stretching down, and the clear skies as well as the surrounding mansions and houses, each more glamorous than the next. But for now, he'd enjoy the simpler pleasures of this district. Slowly, delicately.
He opened the door. Within, his beautiful manor awaited, guarded by two maids he had chosen for their looks... as well as their silence.
"I'm home." His expression was particularly ravishing, and happy. There was no place like home, truly. The two followed him inside, as if they had been waiting for him.
In the living room, a single girl sat at the table. Even compared to the outside view, the villa, the maids... she was beautiful. Her hair was a ravishing silver, and her skin as white as porcelain. It was immaculate, beautiful, and yet imperfect. Perhaps that was why it was even more so than anything else. Despite the burns that spotted her dainty hands and face, he'd dare say she was the most gorgeous existence in this world.
"Oh, my day was quite good." He removed his overcoat and folded it neatly on a hanger. The girl had said nothing, yet he deigned to answer with a pure-hearted expression. "It was the usual day at the corrida. Nothing truly extravagant. Would you like to hear more?"
He walked to the kitchen. As if it were the routine. Despite being served by maids, he found he enjoyed doing some things with his own hands even now. Gastronomy was one of his many points of interest. As he prepared the ingredients, he was mindful that the girl's stomach was quite delicate. A simple spring soup and salad would do, with fresh lettuce, apples and nuts, as well as a light vinaigrette. Once the food was ready, the woman was brought back to the living room. He had the food set to the table, while he tended to her burns.
It must've been so painful... It's alright now. No one will ever hurt you again. He sat by her side and touched her hand, clasped it in his, and looked at her longingly.
"I met someone truly special today. Perhaps you will meet her sometime." He smiled and brought her hand to his chest, then his face. As if to feel its embrace one more time. But she was cold, oh so cold. Like a doll, beautiful yet empty. As if something was missing inside that she could never take back. And yet, he did not mind. He forgave it, she was the one woman he'd always forgive.
"Let's stay here a while longer, mother."
