Rider
Rider relaxed into Sakura's arms, glad to be a comforting presence for her. She hated to see Sakura distressed or upset. After all she'd been through, she deserved to be as happy as it was possible for a person to be. Then, though, Sakura whispered something to her. Her use of the German language was odd, as far as she knew Sakura did not speak the language beyond the bizarre pseudo-German she and her sister used to cast their magic.
Aside from that, though, Rider at first felt a surge of pride on hearing the words. A bright smile came across her face as she contined to hold her master and hug her gently. Rider's entire existence was built around protecting and helping Sakura and, whilst she did not expect acknowledgement, it was still nice to have Sakura confirm just how important she was to her. It made her existence feel worthwhile.
"Of course", she whispered in her standard Japanese, "I would never hurt you. You're my beloved master and friend."
As she spoke, though, a nagging doubt came across her mind. She would, of course, never willingly hurt Sakura or allow her to be hurt. She would gladly give her very life to prevent it, if necessary. But, there was another part.
"Never abandon me", she said, thought Rider.
Of course, Rider had no intention of abandoning her, as such. That would break her heart, and that was not something she could ever do. But, at the same time, nor could she abandon her former master. She loved them both and wanted them both to be happy. And, ultimately, her place was not with this Sakura. She had her own Rider, back at home in her own world, and Rider former master had a family who would miss her. She would, of course, stay as long as this Sakura needed her. Her conscience would not allow her to do otherwise. But, ultimately, she would have to leave her, to return to her own world as Sakura returned to hers.
As Rider pondered the issue, her smile turned into a slight frown. She loved Sakura absolutely. The problem was that she loved both Sakuras, and they both had lives and family outside of the place she had appeared in. Sooner or later, her former master would need to go home and, if Rider could not go with her, she and her family would be heartbroken. But, if she chose to leave when this Sakura was not ready, then she too would be heartbroken.
Sighing slightly, Rider relaxed into Sakura's arms. This was something to worry about another time. For now, she would just enjoy the moment.
