Taking the cup, filled with whatever Celica just got out of the paper he heard ruffled behind the counter, Terumi turned the cup upside down on his mouth and gulped down whatever the awful taste was in a single chug.

Setting down the plastic cup, eyes full of trollish smugness, Terumi spoke up.

"I believe that sign says there's free refills."

"Ah? That's a mistake from a new employee. Sorry," she said in a fake, cutesy voice. "If that's all, please make way for other customers."

Celica waved a hand at the empty KFC, where no other customers were walking in. Not so subtly, she was telling him to get out of her face.

Quote
Paladin's eyes widened with surprise when the blast of lava melted the werewolf that had just hit him. However there was no time to ponder where the unexpected aid had come from. The other werewolf was distracted by the sudden death of its companion, so Paladin moved in, and with a single strike the beast was decapitated. With that done Paladin sheathed his blade, and look over to find the person who had helped him. There. A man in a wagon who was also being watched by many creatures.

Paladin made his way towards the wagon, but when he saw the looks that the creatures were giving him and the man in the wagon he unsheathed his sword. Some of them began to focus on him. The tension in the air was thick enough to cut with a knife, and Paladin began to get a little worried. He was not equipped to fight a crowd. He stopped right by the front of the wagon and said, "I hope that offer for a ride is still available."
"Winner takes all," I said as my only answer.

As I did, as if timed, at least three nearby buildings burst open, with angry "supernaturals" coming out in a varied pageant of weird and ugly. One especially big one stood at the center, probably the leader. He was at least eight feet tall, and wherever skin showed, hair was showing as well. The most definitive thing about him though, was his lower jaw and his nose being absolutely massive.

Reminded me of the mutant who raised me, bless his soul.

The mutant, not this guy. This guy, I'd rather not see any more than absolutely necessary.

"Slip, get us outta here," I said urgently as the head croney gestured to his posse to "get em all," or some other dumb thing. The Sleipnir unit wasted no time and started accelerating towards our new, armored friend. We made to pass him by, and I stuck out my arm and stretched my hand.

"Come on!"

Paladin grasped the man's hand, and began to dangle along the cart. Then he grabbed onto the side of it and pulled himself into the front of the cart. He glanced back towards the group of monster's once before focusing on the other person in the cart.

"Well, that was exciting! I must have earned Stribog's favor in some way considering I've met such a helpful stranger! I am one of the 12 Paladin Captains in the service of Stribog. What is your name?"

"Call me Archive Hunter."

Just as our introduction is over, more people-things show up in front of us, trying to bar the road ahead with some cinder blocks. A quick look to the back also told me that the big man himself was chasing us, running way faster than even I could.

"Wonder what kind of sonnuvabitch he is. Slip, hard right!"

Slip made a few beeping noises, and turned sharply to the right into an alley, and into the street on the other side. With less obstacles on this road, the speeding wagon broke away from whatever goblins and fairies were left chasing us.

"Well, that's that. We should still lay low for a while, big guy looked pissed."

As I say so, I extend my hand to the paladin for a shake.

"Pleasure meeting you, Paladin."

Paladin shook hands with Archive hunter, and then he began to speak.

"I must thank you for the aid you've given me today, Archive Hunter. Truly I have earned Stribog's grace to find such a helpful person in this city. I personally do not approve of hiding when there are beasts around, but I will heed your advice. It would be a shame to die such a meaningless death."

"No need to thank me. Ain't a right thing, ganging up on a man like that." I shrugged, before eyeing the armored man. "Still, I'd love to hear more about this Stribog you're always on about, and about 'paladins'."

In the back of the wagon, one of the boxes was labeled "RELIGIONS," and it begged for more attention.

As the thought and question popped up, so did a bridge in the distance. Free shelter.

"Hold on, I'll bring us under that bridge first. We'll stop for the night there."

I give instructions to the sleipnir unit, and our course changes towards the aforementioned bridge.

Zolgen

“Honestly, it is truly upsetting that you could not keep your primal desires in check.” A light voice spoke out from the corner of the room, coming from a small chair, where Zolgan sat. “A manifestation of my ultimate work being used in such a way, it almost brings a tear to my eye.”

Zolgen spoke quietly as to not wake up the sleeping servant; it reminded him of his last servant in appearance so it was slightly disturbing.

“No reason to wake her for this, she is not the one signing and it will go much more smoothly if we can discuss this as adults no? Without one waving their powerful familiar in the other’s face that is.”

Forest sighed and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear.  She said, "The second.  My godson got a bit . . . okay he couldn't keep it in his pants apparently."

******

Gabriel smoothed the comforter over La Folia and stroked her hair from her face before Shadowing to bring his car back.

Lancer eyed Neo and then shrugged.  "Then do what you will.  I'm a warrior, not a nursemaid.  No offense lass."

Lawrence and the Redheaded Driver

Law did a double take when he looked up, spotting the one wizard again stalking him. He had said he'd be back with the contract tomorrow after all, but dropping into the hotel room itself was a little creepy. Especially considering the fact that he'd apparently watched what went down in the shower last night.

'I need to ward this place to hell and back don't I?'

I'd actually put some claymores down. Should keep him out, and if not it'll throw him out in pieces.

'...I don't have mines.'

Then go buy some.

"If you don't want me waving it in your face then you can just not look. Don't get pissy about mine just because your dick is made of ants or something." Law said, reaching down on the floor for something to cover himself. His surplus jacket would have to do, as he gently slid an arm out from under the still sleeping Mordred. "And if you try and double cross me, I swear to god I will find you and end you."

Forest sighed and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear.  She said, "The second.  My godson got a bit . . . okay he couldn't keep it in his pants apparently."

"Yeah, I sort of guessed. Hopefully they dodged the bullet anyway, but insurance is always nice. I'll brew one up after I crash on a couch with a half eaten sandwich in my mouth." Dan shifted a little nervously as he finally walked into the kitchen. The whole thing here seemed... well, like about ready to explode. The bird moping wasn't helping much either. Still, a fridge was a fridge, and Dan wasn't about to miss the chance to grab something good out of that.

Haruna Mochizuki

'Suit yourselves.' Grabbing the small firearm attached to her belt Haruna leaped straight into the air simultaneously releasing an array of spherical white orbs.

'4 targets directly ahead.' Using her excellent speed she quickly fired a wide barrage straight at the first vampire.

Though he managed to block the first few bullets he quickly succumbed to the non-stop barrage. He screamed in pain quickly covering his head uselessly as the bullets did their damage.

The other three quickly reacted to their allies hit but the orbs were already in motion one of the vampires attempted to slash the orb into pieces only to rile back in pain as his hand began to burn from heat. The others now aware went straight onto the defensive but there were too many orbs. For every one they dodge another was already headed directly for them and though the damage they could inflict was small combined with Haruna's continuous fire they too fell covering their heads in pain.

"Her companion seemed to be handing things on their own so Haruna then turned her focus to the newcomers, something seemed familiar about them but she couldn't quite place it at this distance.

'Those daggers... Rider?'

She wasn't quite sure if it was her or not, after all in her time she had come across stranger things. So she devised a test. Rider was busy protecting her younger friend so Haruna shouted to her.

"Rider watch out!" Using her smg she fired directly into one of the vampires who had turned its back away from them to face Rider.

Tom
The psychic was surprised by the room choice- it had a window and everything, from which he could see the park, and the what bits of the moon's light could be seen through the clouds and smog. He gave Forest a "thank you" before turning in, wanting to take advantage of his chance at privacy.

It still baffled him, however. She had taken actual consideration for what she suspected were his preferences. But... would she have done the same if she knew what he truly was? Not that he had any reservations about what he was, not really. But from his experience...

In his world, people would try to capture him. There would be fear of course, but not outright revulsion, not for the most part. Rather, most would prefer to try to use him for their own ends. Here, it was much the same, but instead he was far more likely to be faced with revulsion and fear. Perhaps it was the fact that this place was so full of monstrous beings, many of which had the intent to maim, kill, or eat those weaker than themselves, but regardless, the inability to get past that irrational fear was clearly apparent.

Even as a being that the humans feared as well... would those instincts remain, even in a vampire? One for whom certain aspects of humanity had been tossed aside? Only time would tell.

Putting those thoughts to the side for now, he let his bag slide to the floor. One trip to the shower later, he opened it, most of the contents carefully organized and protected with plastic wrap or bags. He retrieved a book, wrapped in the bag it had been purchased in, and safely nestled between a change of clothing and a rather large cloak. He took the protective coverings away, put them aside, settled down on the bed, and began to read.

This was his first test for this place. If it could stay quiet enough for him to read in relative peace, he would consider staying more long term. After all... having easy access to a nice, clean bathroom with a nice, clean shower was a rather considerable perk. Plus this bed... it was surprisingly comfortable...

Archer
This is it. Well, I'm pretty sure this is it.
He looked around. It seemed clear at least, but he could never be too careful.
Now all that's left is to get inside...
The building itself looked innocuous enough, but he could feel prana from the inside, so he couldn't let his guard down. Taking one last look around, he knocked at the door, making sure that it was more than loud enough to be heard.

Hakuno
Archer?
Hakuno had retreated to her room after thanking Forest again, wanting to get her bearings a bit first before she wandered around the place, especially with Archer gone. And for her trouble all she had gotten was the feeling of being very, very alone. But she could feel it now. He was close, very close.

Without hesitation, she ran out of her room and made her way downstairs, more than eager to meet up with her Servant again.

Rin and Mille
Quote from: Tokiomi
“So anyway this city seems to just draw things in. Buildings, people, just about anything really. Apparently there are no known cases of people getting out, at least to what I have learned.” Tokiomi sighed, “I was honestly lucky to get sucked in with my stock of gems. I would have had to use hypnosis to get housing otherwise.”
That seems to back up my hypothesis, thought Rin. And explains why this younger version of Father and I are able to be here at the same time. She forced a smile. "We were rather lucky then. We at least got a chance to prepare somewhat for crossing to the other side." Though that doesn't bode well for going back. I told Sakura and Emiya-kun I'd only be gone a few months...

Mille remained silent, out of respect for their situation. She could feel that things were still tense, and didn't feel like trying to break it unless she had to.

Quote
“Anyway, is there anything you want to ask me about?”
The question caught Rin off guard. She had many things she wanted to ask him, but now they just seemed to slip away into the ether. She began to wrack her brain for where to even start when she saw a very familiar looking man.

L-Lancer?! What's he doing here?
The voice, the blue hair, the muscular yet somewhat lanky frame... maybe she was wrong, but it was worth checking out anyway. Plus it was a convenient excuse to focus on something other than her father for a bit.

"I'm afraid the questions will have to wait. For now... something relevant to investigating just how much this place takes in from other dimensions has just cropped up."

Mille raised an eyebrow. "Someone you recognize?"

Rin looked over at her. "You could say that." She turned back towards where Lancer and his group were conversing. "Be ready for anything. He doesn't appear to be hostile right now, but it's possible he could turn that way."

Mille nodded. "I will. I wouldn't be worthy of being considered a magus if I didn't." She didn't know if she really and truly respected Rin yet, but... Well, she couldn't deny common sense. Plus Rin had been correct on more occasions than Mille had ever thought to give her credit for. Maybe the Tohsaka heir was more deserving of the respect she got than Mille had first thought?

Rin took a deep breath, while trying to make it look as normal as possible. She didn't quite succeed. "Let's go."

It was some time ago when Forest let the strangers into the compound. Seeing as how nothing came of it, Songbird folded his wings around himself and started to snooze. It was an eventful night, and even guardians need to sleep.

"I... see. That's a shame. I can't claim to have something of that nature. I'm sorry for getting my hopes up", her head hanging a bit. It seemed that none of her companions had direct means to find Caules. Now it was but a wild goose chase. The fear of him being taken by something in this city worried her sick, and her hands took hold of her arms, trying to suppress her slight shaking.

'Caules, please come back to me. '

After listening to their conversations up until when the two other companions of Fiore failed to provide a solution to track down Caules, Neo stopped cruising on his motorcycle, unmounted, looked disapprovingly at Amy and Lancer and called them, "You useless fucking niggers." He then went on talking, while pushing his motorcycle manually. "I was about to believe, for one fuckin' second, dat' yo' damn magical shit can find that nerdy kid and we can all go home and jack off just in a fuckin' instant. I mean, shit, you guys know all about this bullshit more than I do and it fuckin' turns out that it would have been betta' if I just took Fio' home back to my crib, have Ratt make a fuckin' plan, make a shitload of 'missing posters' outta it and stick pictures of Caules' big white ass all over this damn shithole. If y'all can't do anythin' to find the damn kid, then you shouldn't have white-knighted your asses in the first place."

He then muttered under his breath out of frustration, "Fucking hell."

'You couldn't help it, could you Fiore? You had to do it again.'

Now Neo was scolding her other two companions, for her sake even.

She had spoken meekly of her desires, like she always did, gained their sympathy and their aid, once again. It was a bad habit, an unintentional one. She behaved in a manner that accidentally invited sympathy, and she knew it. That tangle of guilt in her stomach grew at the realization.

"N-neo, please stop. It's not their fault. It's getting late anyway. We can just keep searching tomorrow, can't we?", she said as she forced a weak smile.

"You seem to speaking as if have a place to stay, but I don't know about Mr. Lancer and Amy. Would you two be interested in me paying for a pair of hotel rooms? It's the least I could do after you used so much of your time helping me."

Even as she spoke her proposition, she caught a pair of girls accompanied by a suited man, only slightly younger than herself, by appearances, approaching. She felt the faint hint of prana from circuits not in activation from their direction. Were they perchance Magi, as well?

Downy Reed
The Alleyway

"Stryker Unit, Shusui!" A flash of light and the figure burst straight through the circle right at Downy.

"Woah!" His thing blade materialized just as fast to block the strike. "Calm yourself! I mean you no harm!"

"Do you think such Balborian trickery will work against me twice!?" The man was obviously not in any state to talk perhaps greatly started by his own sudden appearance he continued his assault throwing attack after attack with his electrically charged blade.

'Damn lightning.' Downy grimaced from the electric shocks he received from every block he took, this plan was not working. He had to think of something fast.

"!בהלה לעצם!" A mass of bones in the shapes of arms and legs shot straight up through the concrete and at his foes feet, with surprising speed the man aborted his charge instead choosing to jump at the edge of a building but Downy had him right where he wanted.

With the blink of an eye he was already at his foes neck blade in hand and with that their skirmish ended.

His breathing still heavy from his blind rage the man muttered his words of defeat. "Very well then Balborian scum, do with me what you will, if you dare."

"Will you relax? I've told you before I mean you no harm! I'm afraid I have no knowledge of these 'Balborians' you so heavily refer to. In fact I believe you are from a completely world then I am altogether."

"Not again..." Though he only muttered it under his breath Downy caught it. Finally realizing Downy was no enemy he relaxed his pose and the sword to his neck was loosened.

"Again? I assume this has happened before?" Content to see he was no longer hostile Downy lessened his grip if only slightly to show he truly did not mean any harm, for now at least.

"It's a long story, but yes... This would be the second time I've been thrown into a world not of my own." The man cast a look downwards but offered no continuation of his tale, only going so far as to give his name. "Well it is fitting then I introdice myself then, my name is Stryker, Stryker Zero. And you are?"

"Downy Reed, you may call me Downy. Well then Mr. Stryker while I can't say I know everything about your situation I believe I might be able enlighten us both a little. Why don't I explain?"

And with that Downy began telling Stryker everything he had found, careful to reveal any of his secret lest he be hostile to such an action.

Forest smiled and said, "Thank you.  Just, you know, get some rest first. I don't want to give the girl a mismashed potion, and just let me know what you need and how much."

She saw Wynn sipping absinthe and Karna still here.  Probably going to be even more of a douche, she thought to herself as she moved to grab a tangerine from the fruit bowl at the center of the table.

Wynn frowned at her and said, "You look a fright.  Have you even fed recently? You also look as if you are moping once again.  Gabriel and I worry about you, you know."

Then the Faerie eyed Dan and asked, "What is it doing here?  Kyle was bad enough, but another mutt to harbor?"

"I'm sorry," Forest said with a sad smile towards Dan, "She's a bit of a git."  Then she turned to Wynn and said, "He needed my help so he didn't go out and eat a bunch of people.  He's not like one of our werewolves so don't be an arse towards him."

******

Lancer turned to see the others approaching and a smile spread across his face as he saw the set of twin tails he just died for coming his way.  Without a word, he ran over to Rin, noting that she was a little different than the spoils he had died to save.  She's older, a wolfish part of his brain pointed out with glee.

He smirked and said, "So, where's your overprotective hero, Lass?"

"Ah? That's a mistake from a new employee. Sorry," she said in a fake, cutesy voice. "If that's all, please make way for other customers."

Celica waved a hand at the empty KFC, where no other customers were walking in. Not so subtly, she was telling him to get out of her face.

"Oi oi oi, Celica dear, that's false advertisement. For that reason, let me word this slightly differently."

Leaning in a bit closer, Terumi continued.

"Give me a refill or I'll cut you into so many pieces that Raggy-boy wouldn't know which were part of his little slut and what was the leftovers he gives to the little shits on the street."
