Tom
The psychic was surprised by the room choice- it had a window and everything, from which he could see the park, and the what bits of the moon's light could be seen through the clouds and smog. He gave Forest a "thank you" before turning in, wanting to take advantage of his chance at privacy.
It still baffled him, however. She had taken actual consideration for what she suspected were his preferences. But... would she have done the same if she knew what he truly was? Not that he had any reservations about what he was, not really. But from his experience...
In his world, people would try to capture him. There would be fear of course, but not outright revulsion, not for the most part. Rather, most would prefer to try to use him for their own ends. Here, it was much the same, but instead he was far more likely to be faced with revulsion and fear. Perhaps it was the fact that this place was so full of monstrous beings, many of which had the intent to maim, kill, or eat those weaker than themselves, but regardless, the inability to get past that irrational fear was clearly apparent.
Even as a being that the humans feared as well... would those instincts remain, even in a vampire? One for whom certain aspects of humanity had been tossed aside? Only time would tell.
Putting those thoughts to the side for now, he let his bag slide to the floor. One trip to the shower later, he opened it, most of the contents carefully organized and protected with plastic wrap or bags. He retrieved a book, wrapped in the bag it had been purchased in, and safely nestled between a change of clothing and a rather large cloak. He took the protective coverings away, put them aside, settled down on the bed, and began to read.
This was his first test for this place. If it could stay quiet enough for him to read in relative peace, he would consider staying more long term. After all... having easy access to a nice, clean bathroom with a nice, clean shower was a rather considerable perk. Plus this bed... it
was surprisingly comfortable...
Archer
This is it. Well, I'm pretty sure this is it.He looked around. It seemed clear at least, but he could never be too careful.
Now all that's left is to get inside...The building itself looked innocuous enough, but he could feel prana from the inside, so he couldn't let his guard down. Taking one last look around, he knocked at the door, making sure that it was more than loud enough to be heard.
Hakuno
Archer?Hakuno had retreated to her room after thanking Forest again, wanting to get her bearings a bit first before she wandered around the place, especially with Archer gone. And for her trouble all she had gotten was the feeling of being very, very alone. But she could feel it now. He was close, very close.
Without hesitation, she ran out of her room and made her way downstairs, more than eager to meet up with her Servant again.
Rin and Mille
“So anyway this city seems to just draw things in. Buildings, people, just about anything really. Apparently there are no known cases of people getting out, at least to what I have learned.” Tokiomi sighed, “I was honestly lucky to get sucked in with my stock of gems. I would have had to use hypnosis to get housing otherwise.”
That seems to back up my hypothesis, thought Rin.
And explains why this younger version of Father and I are able to be here at the same time. She forced a smile. "We were rather lucky then. We at least got a chance to prepare somewhat for crossing to the other side."
Though that doesn't bode well for going back. I told Sakura and Emiya-kun I'd only be gone a few months...Mille remained silent, out of respect for their situation. She could feel that things were still tense, and didn't feel like trying to break it unless she had to.
“Anyway, is there anything you want to ask me about?”
The question caught Rin off guard. She had many things she wanted to ask him, but now they just seemed to slip away into the ether. She began to wrack her brain for where to even start when she saw a very familiar looking man.
L-Lancer?! What's he doing here? The voice, the blue hair, the muscular yet somewhat lanky frame... maybe she was wrong, but it was worth checking out anyway. Plus it was a convenient excuse to focus on something other than her father for a bit.
"I'm afraid the questions will have to wait. For now... something relevant to investigating just how much this place takes in from other dimensions has just cropped up."
Mille raised an eyebrow. "Someone you recognize?"
Rin looked over at her. "You could say that." She turned back towards where Lancer and his group were conversing. "Be ready for anything. He doesn't appear to be hostile right now, but it's possible he could turn that way."
Mille nodded. "I will. I wouldn't be worthy of being considered a magus if I didn't." She didn't know if she really and truly respected Rin yet, but... Well, she couldn't deny common sense. Plus Rin had been correct on more occasions than Mille had ever thought to give her credit for. Maybe the Tohsaka heir was more deserving of the respect she got than Mille had first thought?
Rin took a deep breath, while trying to make it look as normal as possible. She didn't quite succeed. "Let's go."
