Victoria Ashworth

It seemed like the girl was worried a bit about the blood samples, which knowing what some of my fellow Tremere could do with such a thin was understandable. She also mentioned about what else I would be willing to offer, it seemed like she was on to the fact I was after a bit more than just information. Deciding to lay my hand on the table, as we had reached the final stage of negotiation, I began to speak.

"If you are worried about what I would be doing with the blood sample, then that is understandable. However, I can assure you that not only am I not interested in using it to curse you, I do not have the knowledge to do so. However, even if I did, we could render me unable to do it to you through the blood contract," I said, taking a breath before explaining what exactly it was, "The blood contract is one of the most powerful rituals available to the Tremere, as it allows two parties to create a pact, either simple or complex, that cannot be broken, unless the contract itself is destroyed. The terms of the contract would be enforced as written for both parties, and are absolutely unbreakable, and the contract takes effect three days after it is signed in the blood of the participants of the ritual," I said, finishing the explanation.

"As for anything else, I would be willing to teach you any variety of skills or thaumaturgy I know, in exchange for you teaching me a bit about how your powers work, and anything else you have in mind could be discussed," I said, finishing my offer.

With the deal laid out, I sat back and awaited her response.

Rin

Rin watched the proceedings with a frown before she grabbed Sakura's arm and said in a low voice, "What was all that about?  She didn't do anything other than taking a spill with her over eager . . ."

Rin gestured to where she could see the redhead guiding the blond away and frowned.  His speed had been incredible; almost Servant like.  Armor-san was impressive as well, but what was the point to all of this?  As soon as I pointed out the lack of reflection she went nuts.  Well more than her normal brand of crazy.

She peered at Sakura and said, "It was when I pointed out that Blondie had a lack of reflection.  My mentor is a Dead Apostle Ancestor and Rider enjoys drinking blood too much, yet you freak out when I mentioned she didn't have a reflection.  Why?"

Saber

Saber sighed as Mordred left, but wondered why she had reacted as she did.  Putting down her burger, she stood up and stuck her hand out towards the light.  What is this and what does it mean?  And why did it affect her in such a way?

She eyed her burger and began to hurriedly eat; she had work to do after she was properly fed.

Forest

"Ya dumbass, don't do that again." Kenzo growled at her before chopping her lightly on the head. "Picking a fight with a guy like that, its like you were asking for bad news. Honestly, he's one I'd rather never have to fight."

Forest glared at Kenzo and said, "I don't do well with being threatened.  That violet haired fannybawbag wanted that overgrown Tin Man to kill me for no bloody reason other than I'm something that I had no choice in becoming.  What I am isn't who I am, but apparently despite all I do, all anyone sees is the what.  I bloody hate this place.  I want to go home.  I miss my son, my friends, and I'm glad he's not here to hear this, but I even miss Hawk Hunters.  Which means absolutely nothing to you but . . . "

She sighed, gestured and said, "Go get what you need and I'll take you home."

Sakagami Kenzo

Kenzo shook his head and sighed. "I getcha, but you're missing the point. That tin man isn't just a wanker. You know, like when he hit me? Usually one would feel emotion when doing that to someone. Like, you know, being upset, being overjoyed, being sad, being frustrated. That... was different. It's like he didn't feel anything at all. That type is bad news, trust me on experience. It's the type who would kill without a shred of hesitation like a machine." He said with a laid-back tone,  rubbing the back of his neck before looking up.

She was a friend to him, he owed her a lot. She helped him find his sword and was going trough all this trouble because of him. He didn't want to burden her. And now, he saw that she was that unhappy, like hell he'd let her mope like that. With a nonchalant sigh, he picked fore up like a bride in a cheesy hollywood movie. Not that he ever saw one, it was more of a natural thing to him than anything.

"As for buying things... screw that.. We're going home. Its not like I have to buy em now anyway, and leaving a cute girl to her misery ain't my style."

Crest

He kept to the shadows, avoiding the light as much as possible his gear was hidden beneath his new poncho, so he did not attract any inquiring eyes. He knew that light, he knew what that light could do, he has seen it obliterate trees; rip up stone, burn him even with a near miss. He needed to find some place safe. Some place to hide out. Preferably also find someone who knew the city, at least a little, and someone who at least looked like they belonged here, not like Caedia.

He vaguely realized that his ribbons folded against his scarf, hiding them as he joined into the group of people. He vaguely noted that they seemed to respond to his will, at least to some level.

He saw so many people staring up at the sky, pointing it out to others, some of them looked up in wonder and other looked at it, holding a metal rectangle between them and it.

He paid then no mind. He paid no one any mind, until that his he walked pass a rather attractive woman, no, attractive didn’t even begin to describe it; she was stunning in a way Crest could not even describe. Her hair shimmered and flowed, like quicksilver, her body was the perfect proportions, and her face was like gazing upon a freshly blooming flower after a harsh winter… what in the fucking hell was he thinking, fucking shit, he has to get his shit together.

Oh, and she was drunk, like, piss drunk considering how strong the smell of alcohol that stuck him was. He walked a bit further, before turning around, and seeing the woman walk. There was… unevenness in her steps, like she was dizzy. Ok, she was really drunk then. His intuition yelled at him, and so he turned around and followed her from a safe distance, far too away to be noticed.

He followed her, followed her as she walked back to a building, it was rather run down, but it was suitable. He watched at a distance as she stumbled up to a door, opening it with a key, and walking it.

And so calmly he walked up to the entrance, his rejection of sound making him as silent as the grave, and he kneeled at the handle, looking at the key hold. He frowned, Rejection of Matter would be too obvious, but he had to. Raising his hand he focused. But as he tried nothing happened. And instead a ribbon unwound and hovered around his hand.

He stared at it, and he realized. It was… it was like if he tried to reject his sound or scent at the same time. This ribbon and Rejection of Matter were of the same ‘kind’. Frowning he hoped it would work.

He held his hand over the key hole, and the ribbon slipped into it, it ate away at the lock and tumbler. And with it gone the door was unlocked, or perhaps it would be better to say it was never able to be locked in the first place.

And at that moment he opened the door, shutting it behind it as quick as possible, quick and quiet, not even a sound because of his rejection. And when he was in he heard it, the sound of running water. Slowly he moved source of the sound, and he found a room, a hot and steaming room, but he could still make out the figure within it.

That girl, just naked, crying while curled up into a ball. This was going to be easier then he thought.

His ribbons shot out, wrapping around the girl’s body, hovering just off the skin around her neck and others pointing at various points of her body.

Huh, it really did respond to his commands. He would have to practice more before he could use it in combat though.

“Don’t scream. Don’t do a thing.” He warned, “If you do, you’re done.”

And that was how Crest the Nothing met Emily the Changeling.

MATOU CONSTRUCTION SITE

His eyes tracked the intruder while she entered the site proper, the various machines and piles of building materials dotting the site, meanwhile the partially finished structure, obviously still in the early stages of development, finished off the scene.

The intruder approached him and called out, “Hey, you. You know what’s going on with this new light in the sky?” And at that moment Kern moved truly.

He turned his body completely to face her, and lifted his axe off the ground, holding the massive, unwieldy thing with one hand, like it was nothing more than a stick. The black metal of the blade reflected the light of the pillar in odd ways, almost mesmerizing.

And then he took to steps towards her and stopped. “… If you seek to impede the work here, then you will die.” He warned her, his blade shimmering in the light prepared to act at a moments notice.

Forest bit the inside of her cheek and was about to make a joke about the T-800 before Kenzo literally swept her off her feet and picked her up in complete princess style.

"As for buying things... screw that.. We're going home. Its not like I have to buy em now anyway, and leaving a cute girl to her misery ain't my style."

Forest frowned, folded her arms, looked away, and said, "I'm not cute . . . I can walk.  I'm not hurt . . . I don't need to be carried and we're already here anyway and I could by something extravagantly expensive - and shiny - and it'll make me feel placated."

Noriko had no particular reason to trust the blood sorceress. After all, in her place she would lie or omit truth if it was in her interest. There was no such thing like an absolute contract. Contracts were meant to be broken or abused.

"I shall keep your number in my phone book. I'm interested in sharing some information, but no further commitment before I see how well cooperation between us unfolds. For now, I will answer one question, and you will answer mine, if you don't mind. Then I shall take leave." she declared to Victoria. She didn't have too much time to spare and Seras was probably getting impatient. One question was enough.

Victoria Ashworth

It seemed that the girl was indeed very untrusting. That was good, to be too trusting of a vampire likely would get a human killed. She seemed to be in a hurry as well, so she proposed one question a piece. Magic was out, since that would require follow up questions and only a bit of knowledge would be not worth the time and effort. No, I would ask about something else. Something that would get to the essence of who she was, or at least give me a glimpse into her mind. I would ask her why she practices magic, why she delves into the world of the supernatural and puts herself in grave danger. There had to be a reason, and that could tell me a bit more about the girl, so that I could get a better grasp of who she was.

"Very well, I shall ask my question first,"I spoke, contemplating how exactly to word it, "I ask not about your magic, as that would take far too many questions to get enough knowledge to be useful. Instead, I shall ask you this, Why do you practice the magic you practice? After all, magic is a very dangerous force, and you seem cautious enough to not be playing with it, so you obviously have a strong reason for doing it."

I waited, thinking about why she would be practicing the magic she did. What drove her to the supernatural? Hopefully she would answer promptly.

Noriko

"For me magic is a path to self-improvement. I consider my mind and soul as a stone to be polished. There are Mages who also improve their bodies but while I do not shirk from manual labor, I find enlightenment as a priority before I embark on that. There is also a curiosity, but I have a defined goal set ahead."

Immortality that is, but she would not confess that. If Victoria found out her goal, who knew what scheme she could invent. It was now her turn to ask a question. "Why someone as ancient is so interested in modernity? I'm curious why the human progress interests you, Ms. Ashworth."

Victoria Ashworth

It seemed the girl was not just after power, that was good. She was very much looking for knowledge, for enlightenment. That was an important trait for someone practicing magic. It kept them looking for more and more, not just stagnating when they felt that they were now strong enough to dominate, and it kept them subtle, as they did not want to use their powers to exert dominance over others, just for their own internal improvement. Though I did wonder what her end goal was, however I had already asked my question, so it was now my turn to answer. She wanted to know why a person as ancient as myself was interested in modern tech and the like.

That was indeed a good question, as many of the vampires my age wanted nothing to do with technology, and instead of embracing it and working it into their magic, they rejected it, afraid of its power. I probably would have been that way if I had not started out with the field I did, which was notably improved by the application of technology.

With my answer prepared, I began to speak. "That is a good mindset to have, young mage. Without a focus on improving one's mind one is limited by their flesh," I said, lauding the girl's answer, before going into my own answer, "As for why I am interested in human progress, it is a very practical reason. Two of the earliest types of thaumaturgy I learned benefit from knowing technology and using it in conjunction with it. The use of technology in my electrical magic is rather obvious, and the more I know about objects, the better I can reproduce them with conjuring. As I kept up with them, I naturally became acquainted with technomancy when it began to develop."

With my answer given, I began to speak again. "Since you implied you must go, I shall not cause you to tarry any longer. I had planned to purchase some other goods for myself as well, so I shall go do that. If you care to meet again, feel free to contact me, since you have my number," I said, before getting up, taking my bags with me. As an afterthought, I said, "Though if you happen to have more time, I would not mind you joining me as I continue to shop. I don't mind covering you, after all I can create money rather freely."

With that said, I waited for a moment while I waited to see if the girl wished to join me for the rest of my shopping trip.

Noriko

"I will contact you tomorrow evening. We should have more time for conversation if we meet early night." Noriko proposed. "As for your other offer, I will kindly refuse, Ms. Ashworth. I have bought what I need and I don't want to infringe on your hospitality." To be honest, she preferred to use money earn through hard work rather than even slightly destabilize the economic system with magically created money. She considered it as a frivolous use of magic, but didn't say that in front of a vampire elder.

Waving goodbye, she headed back, now out of the line of Victoria's sight. Approaching Seras whom she just spotted, she complemented her. "I appreciate that you watched over me so discretely. How was the brawl with your 'employer'. Passed the job interview?"

Seras

Watching as Noriko left with the promise of a future meeting, Seras waited as Noriko approached her.

"...Yeah," she said a little sheepishly, "I guess you could say I passed."

Seras had long since decided that she didn't like this Elder Vampire-person, but if there was no immediate danger, then there was no real need to cause a scene again.

"Speaking of whom, we should probably find our employer again," Seras noted, turning back to look for Vanguard.

Noriko

"Yeah, Mr. Armor. He interests me, to be honest. I don't have to scrutinize him with my magic to know he must be animated by some outstanding magic." And she liked his honesty. She would use him, he would use her. Almost equal relationship. Almost, because she fully planned to benefit more in the end than him from their deal. "Now be honest, what do you think of Ms. Ashcroft?", she asked Seras, curious about her opinion.

Seras

Seras took a moment to consider Noriko's question, thinking back to the whole conversation.

"Honestly, a bit long-winded," Seras admitted, "And she certainly didn't act her age, considering she's even older than my Master. ...Honestly, between how easily she showed her hand regarding the whole thing about blood curses, and how blatantly she was asking for your blood in the first place, amongst a few other things...I'm actually wondering how she survived that long."

Sakagami Kenzo

Kenzo looked straight at Forest, his expression very close to the 'are you serious?' expression he knew oh so well. Then, he laughed heartily and kept holding Fore as easily as a feather.

"What are you saying, idiot? Are you calling me a liar or do you enjoy being wrong?" He replied, giving her a toothy grin. She was cute when flustered, and fun to tease. Hopefully she wouldn't mind.

"Besides, I don't wanna."

Emily

Lost for the moment in her own tears, Emily didn't notice the intrusion until it was too late, a strange voice warning her to not raise the alarm. Emily looked up to find herself surrounded by strange ribbons, with an odd black-haired man standing beyond them. Suppressing a flash of fear, Emily looked at the man for a long moment, somewhat intrigued. There was something in his voice, something she had recognized all too many times before, amongst many new Changelings she'd met during her time as Spring Queen. He was running, though from what she had no way of knowing.

Looking at Crest, Emily was a little surprised to find that, past that initial flash of fear, she wasn't actually...afraid. Maybe the recent events had numbed her, but still...

On something of a whim, Emily invoked a Contract, silently paying out the Glamour cost to find...

...Odd.

At first glance, the one desire for death was somewhat concerning, but the realization that it wasn't neither her death, the death of anyone she knew, nor the man's own death soon calmed that suspicion. Aside from that, the man's remaining desires were rather...curious. Freedom, safety. An impulsive desire for her, but one that he seemed to be keeping under wraps at the moment.

"You don't need to do this, you know," Emily said calmly, relaxing as much as she could with the ribbons surrounding her.
