Noriko

Quote
Seras took a moment to consider Noriko's question, thinking back to the whole conversation.

"Honestly, a bit long-winded," Seras admitted, "And she certainly didn't act her age, considering she's even older than my Master. ...Honestly, between how easily she showed her hand regarding the whole thing about blood curses, and how blatantly she was asking for your blood in the first place, amongst a few other things...I'm actually wondering how she survived that long."

"Yeah, a mage needs to be more subtle, regardless how old one is. I will 'cooperate' with her, but be at ease, she might think she is a queen on the board, but in reality she's nothing more than a pawn for my designs." Noriko smirked. Honestly, the thought she could potentially outwit someone that old made her even eager to pull it off. "Let's meet with our 'employer'. Lead the way, Seras, I bet it will be more fruitful meeting than mine with that 'Tremere' elder."

Urthemiel

There was a hint of amusement in Urthemiel's eyes at the blatant interest in the purple haired woman's tone. She did not grab the offered hand but did nod her head with effortless grace and said, "I am Bellitanus, the maiden of Beauty."

Her voice was lovely without compare and was almost friendly but it lacked even the slightest hint of attraction. While this 'Rider' was certainly beautiful and the purple hair was of interest its apparent lack of rarity made it slightly less treasured. There was less of a need to focus on any of the individuals if she could simply wait as many years as needed to take one of their descendants.

Instead she turned to face Medaka and placed a hand on the girl's right cheek. It was a surprisingly gentle movement and while the look that Urthemiel gave her could not be called sultry the sheer focus of her gaze could flush even the cheeks of experienced courtesans. "My apologies but would you please excuse the girl and I? We have something of importance to discuss together."

It was becoming rather clear that there it was becoming less important to stay here. The present company was unimportant and the obvious imposter had left. She would ferret out whatever reason the girl was important to the demon and leave. She had an investment to check on after all. It would be a waste of time if he was already useless to her.

Sakura Matou

Sakura shook in her shoes at Vanguard’s oppressive presence. It was stifling. It felt like the very air itself had paused to watch what was about to unfold. Vaguely in the background, she saw other shoppers hurriedly leaving the vicinity.

Strong.
Dangerous.
Frightening.
Deadly.
Evil.

These were the words that came to her mind as she stood still, unable to move as she watched what would unfold, simply holding onto Rin’s shirt with an ironclad grip born of fear. She didn’t want her friends and family to get hurt. Not here. Not there. Not anywhere. She wanted them all to be safe, and she wasn’t sure Vanguard would be enough.

”Rider!” Sakura sent out a plea of help through their mental connection. Her voice was full of anguish and fear, fear of danger. Fear of loss. She would have said more, but then the situation was resolved as quickly as it had begun. She breathed a sigh of relief, both audibly and over her mental link, as the red swordsman pulled the monster away. ”Wait, hold on.” She said to Rider, notably calmer, yet still very upset.

"Sakura, shall we go?" Vanguard asked her with a voice both as warm as the sun and as chilling as the bowels of hell.

“Y-yes. We should.” She said with a shiver and a nod. She turned around cautiously, making sure the hornets were directly above her and her sister, keeping a close eye on the movements of the two for her. She repositioned the bags on her arms, momentarily thinking about having Vanguard carry them before banishing such a foolish thought from her head.

No, don’t be stupid, what if he needs to defend us? She reprimanded herself. He wouldn’t be able to keep us safe. I’m not sure he can even now... She thought sullenly.

So she prepared to tough it out, taking a few steps away before Rin tugged on her arm.

Rin watched the proceedings with a frown before she grabbed Sakura's arm and said in a low voice, "What was all that about?  She didn't do anything other than taking a spill with her over eager . . .” Rin paused momentarily before continuing.  “It was when I pointed out that Blondie had a lack of reflection.  My mentor is a Dead Apostle Ancestor and Rider enjoys drinking blood too much, yet you freak out when I mentioned she didn't have a reflection.  Why?"
Sakura rubbed her forehead. Why didn’t her sister understand? It should be flagrantly obvious why! She thought, rather exacerbated at this whole debacle. Why couldn’t there be one, just one, uneventful outing? Why did this place have to be so fucking awful! She missed her old life. She’d gladly give up everything that she had in this god forsaken city for a chance to go back home. She’d gladly give up her very life for even one small chance, one infinitesimal chance, to erase all the memories she had of this awful city and go back in time three years.

But she couldn’t think like that for long.

She had to stay alive and well for Shirou and Rin. For Rider and Vanguard. For Faust.

She hated this place. She hated it so much. It sucked it sucked it sucked ItsucksitsucksITSUCKS!

“Das geht dich einen feuchten scheissdreck an!!!” She swore without thinking, she swore at her beloved sister. “N-no, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that.” Sakura hung her head in shame. She hated this. It was this city’s fault. She hadn’t been like this before. She was positive. She’d changed, and not for the better.

Not.

One.

Bit.

Sakura bit her lip, thinking about how to explain it. She didn’t want to do it here. It wasn’t something to be discussed in such a public forum.

“Nee-san...” Sakura said quietly. “I’m sorry, for swearing and then asking this of you... but... can we wait until we get somewhere more private to discuss this? Please?” Sakura asked with big droopy eyes. “You understand, right?” Sakura twinged internally at how manipulative she sounded. She briefly wondered if she was just manipulating Rin; how much of this was genuine.

Medaka

The gentle caress of her hand, temporarily distracted her from her own thoughts.  The gaze followed by the gentle touch of the cheek was intense but not passionate.  Somehow, it almost looked routine.  Yes, there was undoubtedly something familiar about her.  Medaka had defiantly met her before.

She turned to the purple haired woman.  "Yes, excuse us." Medaka said with a polite smile before walking away with Bellitanus.  She lead her out of the room and into the massive hallway near the entrance.  Finally, they reached the doorway where Medaka stopped and turned to the woman.

"Please. I need your help.  My companion, he is off on his own.  I know you don't know him but I don't know if I can track him on my own this time."  She asked as respectfully as she could. "Last time I saw him he didn't have that kind of magic.  He used to be a fire magician but now he has some weird power and he is acting differently.  Its like he is a different person."  Her eys began to water a bit.  Her eroded mental state was pouring into her sense of confusion.  "I don't understand magic. In my world it didn't exist.  It was a work of fiction like vampires or zombies.  Can magic turn change a persons personality?"

Crest

The moment Emily spoke, one of the ribbons slightly nicked her flawless skin, a small scratch, a small, inconsequential scratch, a small, almost insignificant dribble of blood came from the wound, simply turning the would itself into a thin crimson line. But it would stay there for a very, very long time.

“You don’t seem to be grasping your situation.” Crest explained slowly, like one would to a child. He lowered the toilet seat and sat on it, his ribbons remaining in place around the girl. “You see, a scary, scary man, that’s me by the way, just got into your house without you noticing”

Then there was the soft ring of steel, as he pulled his machete out of its metal sheath, and tapping it against the ground “So, you’re going to do every single little thing,” As he said those three words he shook the machete in his hand at her, in a mocking fashion “I ask, and you’re going to do only that. Understand”

Suiren

At the woman’s words, Suiren’s grip tightened, and with it the woman’s shoulder was crushed into pieces. Blood flew everywhere, even splattering onto Suiren's now cold face, the sound of crunching bone echoed through the clearing. But Suiren just stood there, taking her arm back. Left behind was a contorted mass of flesh, the odd blood of the being tripping everywhere as shards of bone exposed themselves to the world.

“I WILL crush and surpass you. I will surpass all things.” Suiren growled angrily. “All things are make to take, all things are mine to surpass, all things WILL yield to my weight and might.”

The golden light danced from the earth into Suiren violently and abruptly. And her eyes shimmered as she spread her legs apart and reared her fist back.

Urthemiel

The Old God raised an eyebrow at the girl's state and gently patted her head. Her face and eyes softened so that they could even be mistaken for having a bit of true pity. One could call it overly sympathetic but one did not become important by using cold reasoning. Emotions were a key part of manipulation as well. "No tears. Crying won't solve anything, and I need you to be coherent if we want to figure out what happened to your friend. Now, while magic can do so it certainly doesn't grant people powers from nothing. Most likely your friend is possessed by a demon or is a powerful demon in disguise. Both are equally likely. Can you think of anything that might reveal which one it is?"

Aisha

There was pain when the Child crushed her arm but it was temporary. Fleeting. The pain was soothed in an instant and when the other woman removed her hand the shards of bone ripped themselves out of her shoulder as it healed rapidly. Twisted and ripped flesh restored so quickly one could almost miss it if they looked away for an instant. Her eyes glanced at the fist and something primal flashed in her eyes. "Then stop wasting breath. Surpass me."

Rin

“Das geht dich einen feuchten scheissdreck an!!!”  Sakura swore in German at her before adding, “N-no, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that.”

Rin folded her arms across her chest as Sakura bit her lip.

“Nee-san...” Sakura said in a sof voice. “I’m sorry, for swearing and then asking this of you... but... can we wait until we get somewhere more private to discuss this? Please?” Sakura then turned the equivalent of giant puppy dog eyes on her. “You understand, right?”

Rin frowned.  She had once felt guilty about not being a better sister, but she thought she had made up for that as much as she could.  Yet Sakura was acting like this, purposely playing her heartstrings like a violin.

She sighed and said, "Sure, why not?"

Forest

Forest looked down as Kenzo gave her a "WTF are you serious?" look as he still continued to hold her.  In fact he made no move to put her down at all before he laughed, a hearty, joyous sound.

"What are you saying, idiot? Are you calling me a liar or do you enjoy being wrong?" he asked with a wide, toothy grin.   "Besides, I don't wanna."

Her lower lip thrust out slightly as she frowned.  She'd seen him move, but remembered he was something else.  Something else that could end me in an instant if he wanted to.  He wasn't the sweet and helpless person she thought he was when she had found him.  Sweet and innocent maybe, but not helpless.

"I'm not wrong," Forest mumbled as she looked away with a scowl, "So you do this with all the girls you like?"

Emily

Even somewhat more clear than she was when she'd first fallen into a drunken stupor, Emily barely registered the cut. Even if she hadn't endured worse during her time as a Spring Courtier, the Durance itself made this minor injury seem like nothing, though the Changeling noted that she ought to patch it up later. In a different situation, Emily might have allowed a sigh at this, but this wasn't exactly a opportune time to do so, so she resisted the temptation. As the man sat down and pulled out a machete, Emily simply watched him.

"That much is clear," Emily said simply, "So, what is it that you want?"

Elyssa:

Out of the malevolent suns' glares, her systems were stabilizing. However, a new situation appeared: she was not alone. Through the static of her cameras, a winged humanoid appeared. "Get back!" she lashed out.

She tried to get in a more defensible position, but it was obvious what a pitiful state the Fair Lady was in. If only she had more time for her routines to normalize...

Lone Wanderer:

The portals basically ripped space/time for instantaneous travel between two locations.

Tenma used perhaps the single most important discovery since fire...to launch a robot at a door. Sure the explosion was spectacular, but it still felt rather asinine. "Well, shit," Jeremy stated, moving on, "Looks like we got ourselves a Vault Door."

Irisviel

“Yes, I am.” Irisviel said with a smile. “Nice to meet you, Shero.” She said. “But, um...what’s with the sadness when Illya comes up? She’s fine. Well, she’s with...Saber...but otherwise fine!” She said with certainty.

“Probably.” She said with a bit of concern. “No, definitely!” She’s definitely fine.” She tried to reassure herself. “Definitely...”

Rider

Rider smiled at the beautiful woman as she responded to her introduction with one of her own. However, to Rider's slight disappointment, the woman, Bellitanus apparently, did not take her hand and, further, seemed to pay her little attention. Instead, she turned to address the other girl, placing a hand on her cheek and asking to be excused. Rider was about to reply when, suddenly, she heard the mental voice of her master calling to her, obviously extremely distressed and frightened.

Rider frowned, and was about to respond when, suddenly, she heard her master speak once more.

Wait, hold on, she said, significantly calmer than she had been before but still obviously very upset.

Despite her master's more reassuring words, she was still extremely concerned for her well-being. Something had obviously upset her greatly.

Sakura, what's wrong? she asked, her voice full of concern.

Sakura

Rin said "Sure, why not?" with a sigh. Sakura cringed. ”Hold on Rider, I need to talk to Rin, I can’t respond right now. I’ll explain what happened in a few minutes.”

No.

I don’t like this. Why is this happening. Why did I have to do this. I’m so stupid. So monumentally stupid.

“Scheisse.” She swore under her breath. “Warum...” She asked herself.

“Nee-san, please, don’t be mad, I really didn’t mean it. I just made a mistake. Please.” She pleaded with her.

Rin

Rin sighed and said, "Yes, you did.  You over-reacted. You drew unneeded attention to yourself and Armor-san.  With how fast that redhead had moved, he might have been a match for Armor-san.  And the vampire was carrying a gun.  I saw the holster on her leg.  We're powerful magi, but we're not faster than speeding bullets."

She held her finger up to Sakura.  "Observe and then react."

Vanguard

Vanguard tilted his head and looked at Rin, wondering if she was serious or joking about this. Yes, he saw the holster too, what of it? Did she fear a pebble that much? Ridiculous, his barrier would've protected them the instant she pulled the trigger. He was almost hurt that he was being underestimated so. Almost.

"That is a foolish thought, would Sakura have chosen me to protect you both if I could not manage against this much? There is only one truth that you ought remember."

Vanguard then raised his arm and a silouhette of light grew on his back, cloaking him for a moment before dissipating. Immediately, a cape fluttered from behind him mightily.

"I am the strongest, peerless in might. That is a fact."

Elyssa:

Out of the malevolent suns' glares, her systems were stabilizing. However, a new situation appeared: she was not alone. Through the static of her cameras, a winged humanoid appeared. "Get back!" she lashed out.

Azrael

It seemed that the poor child was terrified, and seemed to be in pain, and was obviously capable of human speech. This meant she was likely intelligent, which was interesting for sure. Had humans here mastered the art of creating intelligence? Or was she some anomaly? Either way, it didn't matter. She was obviously terrified, and seemed to think I was here to cause her harm. I did not wish to terrify the girl further, so I needed to clarify this misunderstanding.

Deciding that the wisest course of action was the most expedient, I chose to use some of the powers I had at my disposal from my years of service to the Almighty. Altering the flow of faith in my body, but not expending it, to call upon one of them. I caused my voice to speak with the Voice of Heaven, limited in range to within the church however. With that done, I began to speak to the poor child in front of me, my voice ringing with the clarity of a crystal bell, enhanced both by my return to my true form and my evocation.

"Be not afraid, young one. I do not intend to harm you. I am Veromiel, formerly of the House of Dawn of the Heavenly Host. If I can do anything to ease your suffering, young one, please allow me to do so. I cannot stand by while I watch the suffering of another."

With that said, I let my evocation slip, seeing no need to continue it now that I had let my intentions be known and introduced myself. I now awaited the young child's response, hopefully having got the message I intended through.
